when those first and 10 segments took off bigger than they ever could have imagined
Damn I forgot about First and 10:ohhh:

Yea the rise of Twitter helped..people like skip and Michelle Beadle realizing the amount of retweets and attention they could get for shytting on Lebron.

I buy that it was a gradual decline.

You know
This.

That’s why there’s so many different answers in here. As a kid I’m sure most people here watched ESPN all day, every day. But once we got older we realized there were more important things in life, and watching ESPN all day was mostly a waste of time.
Adults were the main demographic for ESPN. Not kids :heh:

I don’t think I’ve intentionally watched sports center since 2011.

It’s not directly connected to Facebook but it’s definitely around the time Facebook opened up to non university members.

Bron went to Miami and they were only showing highlights of the Heat even when they lost combined with the ascent of Skip Bayless.

I basically only go to their website to check scores because they still do that very well.

It's not like WCW where you can point to a specific year when u knew it was over

It was a combo of smartphones/ubiquitous internet making it obsolete, and the talking heads all turning into heel professional commentators
