Pretty much my whole life as far as just hearing it(my mom said when I was 2 I used to love when she played Sweet Black p*ssy by DJ Quik) but I really started listening on my own and getting into it after I heard Forgot About Dre, so basically around 1999-2000. Marshall Mathers LP changed the game for me tho and made me actively pursue more of it.

Used to know the words to "Today was a good day" but I didn't get into it heavy until Meth & Red's album dropped and Slim Shady LP as well as 2001 dropped that same year.

Yo raps was probably my favorite tv show even at that young age :sadcam:

First CDs bought were AEOM and The Score.

shyt I have no idea tbh....I remember when my older cousin came into town from NY in 1987(I was 5) she was rocking to some LL, Whodini, and Run DMC and shyt...the first shyt I got into was NWA, and The Geto Boys had me hooked forever, may be the real reason why Scarface is top 3 for me all time

ive been into rap since before pre-school age in the '80s.

and it just built from there.

then I became obsessed with rap, r&b and music in general in the summer of '93 and never looked back. so in terms of being a junkie, this is my 20th anniversary, but my roots are years deeper.

You see and hear hip hop while you're growing up but its just background noise, until that one important moment you hear that one song that changes your whole mindstate and its just :ohlawd:

That moment for me was thrift shop by macklemore, I was 43. Been a fan ever since.

:laff:

perfect execution.

mid-late 80's, the first album I remember really sitting with and listening front to back on my own was LL's walking with a panther.

I stole most of my music up until CD's were invented, first one I actually went to the store to cop with money was ready 2 die, had mad tapes/singles/dubs/liquor store dubs before that though.
