I hate pretentious people that label themselves nerds as if it's a badge of honor. Nerd simply equals having interests ur devoted to. History buff, sci-if nerd, otaku, gamer, whatever.

Being a nerd gets a negative connotation when u devote so much time to ur interest that you forsake cultivating real life necessary social skills. In many cases these hobbies initially were a way to escape from stressful social interaction anyway.

So a lot of so-called nerds develop a massive chip on their shoulder. They elevate their standards in a mate to massive proportions so that they can claim that they are alone b/c their standards are too high. They develop a deep set hatred towards the opposite sex of their own race not necessarily due to rejection ( b/c they don't approach people) but due to their unrealistic expectations that Beyoncé or Idris Elba is going to brush the orange stains off that faded WoW shirt, or lift up that roll of fat to get to that doofy ass heart of dubious gold on the inside. Nerds are all about expecting the world to see that even though they look like a 3 and act like a 2, they deserve a 10.

The most peculiar aspect of nerdism is the fact that they rarely go for their own counterparts in their own race. Lol! You put a male and a female nerd in a room together and they'll SWEAR that they've never met anyone like themselves so they HAD to go date out, right? They utilize racist ideas and stereotypes about the opposite sex of their own race to ultimate justify why they were never romantically successful. Dating out isn't necessarily about c00ning even tho they adopt c00n ideas to justify it. It's about trying to re-invent themselves to people of different races so as to find a mate and prove to those evil people in grade school that they are worthy. The hoops I've seen these people jump through to get with someone of another race is "damn Gina!"

When it doesn't work even with non-blk "perfection" (see IR divorce rates) some finally do some introspection. Others just come online and try to live like Gods. But even then that awkwardness, that lack social aptitude, that inability to connect shines through and u know Exxxxxactly what type of person ur dealing wit.

This thread brings back old memories. I haven't read the whole thing yet, but I've read plenty of quality answers in here. Damn near anything can be considered nerdy in our community. It's pathetic.

I grew up in a low income black area. We all spoke "proper" in my family. I hate I even have to use that word. We were all molded to speak a certain way. If you used any slang or mispronounced a word, we where corrected immediately. We weren't allowed to speak like the other kids. My grandmother hated that shyt & did a good job passing it down to everyone. It was never an issue in the neighborhood though, because we all knew each other & my grandmother stayed there for YEARS. The kids I grew up never thought much of it. They knew me.

It wasn't until I moved to another neighborhood I realized it was an issue.

If you speak properly, nyggas are gonna think your a square or lame. It's just the way it is. They are gonna try you. I know if your trying to play me, because we all come from the same background. I had to punch quite a few nyggas in the face growing up. I never did it on some tough guy shyt. I just understand how nyggas think & did what needed to be done. Once people get to know you & are around you long enough, it becomes a non issue.

Most people depend on looks very few people don't and those who don't usually can't for whatever reason. That's just real and not a shot to you or anybody else that feels that way.
