I live in the sierra Nevada mtns on the largest alpine lake in north America.. largest lake by volume after the great lakes!

Free water n food 4 ever !

If you live in Nevada or Arizona or Califormia you're also surrounded by desert. Thousands of years befor white people showed up several native populations and cultures died out in that region.

Granted this goes against my weeklong survival thing but in an Escape from LA scenario where you think they're gonna go?

No I don't. And I'm like you but even in a better situation three growing seasons, plenty of rain rivers within easy walking distance no winters yet surrounded by mountains and jungles.

This. Human existence is about quality of life just as much as longevity. Surviving the apocalypse seems like turning your life into longterm hospice. Imma just check out at that point. I let yall brehs fight the cannibals , mutants, megaviruses, or fallout.




My “bugout” kit will most likely consist of ambien and some patron.

Me neither but what about a hurricane Katrina where everyone who had a plan and some food and water rides out a storm and you die?

You can easily avoid these types of things, with decent bank account and prudence. Katrina casualties were generally the result of poverty or foolishness . There is no pride in “riding out” these easily preventabke circumstances


Bug out typically referrs to a mass cataclysm type of event where all of society ceases to function. an event you cannot avoid. Which is very different than your Katrina situation.

No one surviving an apocalyptic scenario with no "kit". That's just an excuse for grifters to find a way to make money off of you.

You better have a whole fukking bug-out property, a fully stocked cabin in a defensible location that you know you can get to even if the roads are packed and patrols start closing down the streets....or you're surviving off your wits. The best a kit is going to do is make yourself slightly more comfortable as you're getting from point A to point B, but if you can't make it with nothing, you're probably not going to make it just cause you brought an MRE and some firestarters.


What you really gotta do is find a spot like this:
