I have zero issue going to the hood, but I don't drive so if it's gonna be a little harder for me to get there if it's on the outskirts. But I can still make it happen

And I'm from New York, I love the nightlife where I'm from but I dig the nightlife in middle America because there's less posers.

What is your personal favorite bar/club?

100% yes. The place is boring beyond belief, has the most tornadoes of any place in the world, the beer is .03 %, full of Baptist zealots, very racist (I personally met several skinheads at OU, and I’ve never met one outside of OK in my life), terrible flat landscape, low standard of living, tattoos were banned while I was there, etc etc.

However, OU was a great school, in terms of my education (that’s it though). I would go back in time and go to a different school instantly if I could.

I’m going to say something that you might think of as extreme, but it’s true. OK took something away from me and changed me as a person. Some good, mostly bad though. OK will teach you something about yourself, but you gotta ask, at what cost?

Everybody I went to OU with hated Oklahoma. Everybody :merchant:

Everybody was thinking of how to get out of the state. I’ve lived in like 12 different cities and states. I’ve never been to a state where it’s citizens actually, and across the board, hate their state.

Stay away

I think a few states have that 3.2% beer shyt. But that's just supposed to be for supermarkets, not liquor stores and bars as far as I know.

I’ve lived in Indiana and Missouri as well (I seem to be regularly making poor life decisions :francis:). Missouri was worse. Indiana at least has Bloomington, but yeah, a trash state.

I lived in AZ, NC, CT as well, which I think were good states.

Lived in IL, OH, and TX too, which pretty much sucked as well, but better than OK, IN and MO.

Have you lived in Houston or Dallas?

Dallas, Texas but living in Houston, Texas
Boring. I haven't been since 2004. Only reason I went was when I was still living in Dallas and my cousin had a girl going to OU. OKC is not far from Dallas so we drove up there to party with his girl and her homegirls. IDK how it is now since the Thunder came to town but I didn't care much for the city.

SOMETHIN REAL FO YO ASS IN THESE HANDS!!!!
The city really is what you make it. Any nikka in here saying it sucks will have the same experience anywhere else cause they lame as shyt. I go out with my people a lot and we always have a good time.

Alcohol/party: Bricktown is where you wanna go for the nightlife. Is it of the level of bigger cities? Of course not, but it has ratchet spots and more upscale joints and I’ve enjoyed myself at all of em. Plenty bytches here too.

Food: We got some real good hidden shyt if you willing to travel to the “hood.” Mama E’s soul food, plenty of good BBQ and wing spots, ICE Event Center got some of the best fish and burgers around, Off the Hook Seafood is some of the best shyt I’ve had. We also have fine dining out here too if you’re looking for that.

Culture: Just google all of the districts out here and take your pick.

Racism: is it present? Of course, but where the hell isnt it? PLENTY of black folks down here though.
:salute:

You a real one, and you gave it up for the 4-0-Fif

if you know, you know; I have nothing else to add to this

My daughter is down there since 2014 so I have to go down there if I don't fly her up here.
The city itself is pretty ok, relatively clean and peaceful or whatever, but there's nothing to do.
Nothing, at all, is remotely fun or interesting about that place, and I've tried, I swear I tried.
To the extent that last time we just drove down to dallas because I refuse to be that bored while out of town.

OKC is starting to get more interesting to say the least. Bricktown has improved since I was a kid and there's always something to do there. The Paseo, depending on the time you're here, has dope stuff happening too. Norman is coo, Moore is alright, and Edmond always has some party happening on the weekends.

Only towns that have a decent black population are muskogee, taft, tulsa, and broken arrow. I would avoid any other ones :mjpls:

A lot of theses dudes on here shyt on Oklahoma all the time, but the night life is booming here from past years. I get the feeling most of the people shytting on Oklahoma haven't been here in awhile.
