I can't speak for bigger areas but Uber is GOAT here in Louisville. Taxis charge rape prices here and most everything in Louisville is in a 10 mile or less radius. So Uber is a far better deal.

For example on Derby day here (meaning uber fare had the 3x prorate going on), we paid something like 25 dollars or less for four people to go 3 miles.

The return trip in a taxi? Like $60 bucks.

I love Uber its pretty convenient, i still try the Dominican "limos" because its cheaper but Uber always has a driver near me

Well I had a long layover at seatac...took an uber to the weed shop...walked to the gas station...smoked a pack of backwoods behind the gas station...hit uber up and 3 min later was on my way back to the airport

no but you can split the fare, you can also pool a ride with another rider

Y'all asking these basic questions...like uber/lyft ain't been popping for 3 years now.

But it's cool in areas where cabs aren't common, not really worth the hassle in places like ny and Chicago...center city/south street/old town in Philly, downtown or other central parts of DC, etc. Those places cabs and ubers may be about the same unless you're doing uber pool.

I fukk with it when I go out, I love not needing to try to find parking and being able to drink without worrying about driving home.

but it's pretty dope having everything on an app not having to play the guessing game with a taxi wondering when it's gonna get there
