Unfortunately a Republican is in office. So instead of lengthy unemployment benefits or UBI , I'm sure Trump will offer vagrancy laws as a solution to layed off service workers.

Republicans would rather spend 3x your salary to jail you than just pay UBI.

The otehr thing Uber offers a trip radar now to drivers, so they will offer the same trip to like 5 drivers who are "nearby" the closest one can be across the street and wont get it but a guy 3 miles away could. This trip radar is usally the lowest uber will offer if no accepts then it will up the price as a reg trip to the nearest driver but more times than not those 5 days are sitting around doing nothing so they take the scraps

Soon it will seem normal. Just think of regular drivers, they can fall asleep at the wheel, fall asleep, not understand GPS, speed, drive reckless.

I did Uber as a 22 year old in Los Angeles and this was back in the suit and tie days, people would actually give you bad ratings for not talking to them during the drive - that was legitimate feedback received

People are buying a service from a service operator that is doing the service of picking someone up and bringing then A to B - and people still have the audacity to be like “but he didn’t talk to me, he’s obligated to talk to me” so I need to talk to you but a female driver can hit the sexual harassment button if they touch her … as if my sense of sound is worth less than another’s sense of touch
