Uber users in Atlanta are canceling rides with human drivers until they match with one of Waymo's self-driving cars

The Truth
Article just mentioned 2 people but seems like first buddy just doesn’t want to ride with a human being and is never in a hurry to go anywhere (spending an hour canceling a ride defeats the purpose of getting somewhere in a specific amount of time :mjlol: ).

Second guy had a legit reason it seems like… dude finds it cheaper than a regular Uber. That I can understand, but eventually these greedy ass companies are going to up the price on it if it ever becomes in demand like that.

So idk if this will be an issue for drivers or actually replace them. And then they still say it’s best to avoid highways and interstates… which I expect it to be so at the moment.

Then there’s still delivery drivers, so I would say there will be extra competition but idk if it will be enough to replace anything. I think taxis are still relevant in cities like NY no?

Yeah, so Taxis are still around…

Here’s a snippet from Coli overlord AI:

Comeback:
Some cities have seen a recent resurgence in taxi use as ride-sharing wait times have increased and prices have fluctuated

Another reason why I’m not so high on this “AI” wave. You can predict all you want, but you can’t tell the future especially with shyt like this (because there has never been shyt like this in our history) and there will always be people that prefer options.

Planes didn’t replace trains and definitely didn’t replace ships.

And like the article states, self-driving cars are not good for certain situations. Neither is uber/lyft.

Plus, everything created by humans eventually fukks up. As long as there a system in place for the fukk up.

The bad thing is that gig work is one of those jobs that can help as a second income or GOd forbid you lose your job fill the gap till you get a new one.

But these companies will continue to push this more and more and before you know it will only have a few human drivers but majority will be waymo type. Don't gotta split money with the driver because there isn't any.

The wait time increase is a tactic that uber uses. If you want a driver closer to you the charge is much more.

This is a great option for women who don’t wanna have to deal with creepy uber drivers.

It’s unfortunate that it’s necessary as it takes away the human experience, but it’s very understandable.

And it definitely doesn’t mean the attempts to replace the human element in general within itself ain’t problematic, because it is.
stop pushing this untrue narrative that women are being stalked and under constant predation from men in society.
