I was going to say something similar. I be feeling bad for chicks in the music business these days. For some reason it just seems like there isn't enough room for more than like 3-5 female stars at any given time.Bryson tiller is just now getting some mainstream recognition. We been known about Tinashe for more than a year now.
I honestly feel like for some reason there's just Beyonce and Rhianna and then there's the rest of the pack. I don't know why the music industry makes it that way now when it wasn't even like that 10-20 years ago.
I have to disagree. Obviously those 3 are the highest but there's still plenty of male artists doing their thing: Thug, Travis Scott, Asap Rocky, Wale, Meek, Future, Fetty, Big Sean, Chance the Rapper, Joey Badass, Tyler the Creator...the list can go on. Almost every single person I just listed [except Thug and Chance] sold more in their first week of their albums this year than the entirety of sales that Tinashe's album had [she did like 18,000 first week]Starting to slowly become that way in the rap game too. Its Drake, Cole & Kendrick ......then the rest of the world
