Bryson tiller is just now getting some mainstream recognition. We been known about Tinashe for more than a year now.

I honestly feel like for some reason there's just Beyonce and Rhianna and then there's the rest of the pack. I don't know why the music industry makes it that way now when it wasn't even like that 10-20 years ago.
I was going to say something similar. I be feeling bad for chicks in the music business these days. For some reason it just seems like there isn't enough room for more than like 3-5 female stars at any given time.

Starting to slowly become that way in the rap game too. Its Drake, Cole & Kendrick ......then the rest of the world
I have to disagree. Obviously those 3 are the highest but there's still plenty of male artists doing their thing: Thug, Travis Scott, Asap Rocky, Wale, Meek, Future, Fetty, Big Sean, Chance the Rapper, Joey Badass, Tyler the Creator...the list can go on. Almost every single person I just listed [except Thug and Chance] sold more in their first week of their albums this year than the entirety of sales that Tinashe's album had [she did like 18,000 first week]

Im not talking bout just sales per-se, but tiers. In the r&b lane. Its Beyonce, Rihanna....then everybody else (ciara, keyshia cole, teyanna taylor, kelly rowland) etc. They all have moderate success, but none of em are ever reaching that level of success as b and rih. Its is simply unattainable.

Same goes for the rap game. Future killed the streets this year,Wale put out a career defining album, but success and status wise they aint even a smidget compared to coles, drakes, n ken's accolades this year (grammy nods, sales, hbo special's, etc.)

too generic, try hard, not enough talent, bad marketing

she should go the pro black and afro-centric wave, nikkas love that from light-skin/mixed people.

if cole can save his career so can her.....look at kendrick 14grammy nom but his music(new album) basics as fuk , so her label just need to pusher in the right direction

what do think @biscuitsnbangers i know you fan and all

Homegirl produced and engineered her 1st 2 mixtapes dolo from her bedroom. She got talent bruh :comeon:

She needs to emulate what made beyounce finally blow.
A rich Harrison record, just like beyounce did to finally blow after flopping even with movie money.
Other than having the right pr in her case better pr in her favor.
She needs to emulate the moves that made people before her actually really pop.

Then, after that get rid of the weirdo Ts people in her videos.
She needs to cater to being eyecandy.
Not empowering weirdos and turning off her core audience.
By showcasing that weirdo bullshyt.
Get back to her edge she had when in case we die came out as well.
As, she lost that initial edge grit and mystique to her work as well.

one thing bryson tiller did that tinashe didnt was stay true to his sound, if she woulda stuck to her mixtape sounding shyt ignorant people wouldnt say shes talentless and only on cuz shes light skinned, even tho I enjoyed her debut album

also, she gotta stop trying to chase hits, just take it back to the basics

Lot of people with opinions on music "the don't listen to"

To answer the question, she just needs time. This is a different era. She's doing better than almost every other R&B singer in her age bracket (Sevyn, Kehlani, Twigs, etc)
