I wanted to do that my freshman year...Then I saw how "political/fake" you have to be to rise up and figured it wasn't for me

How many young adults have seats in office though? That's what I'm talking about.
how many of yall actually care about people and not just the benfits and pay?
imo lookin at this website alot of yall wouldnt last and people wouldnt like yall
ok i see what you seem to be getting at but i dont really see any growth in a system that listens to your ideas but isnt really hearing you
maybe im just having a strong bias against it but when is the last time anything really changed in a positive way after so and so people got involved in modern societies politics? locally its good to be involved but its like what are people even fighting to get involved for? same ol dry farts still running these things like OP said
Convincing the voting bloc to pick some kid with no experience that just came out of school.
The pay is the cherry on top for me personally. I want us as a group of people to do better.
In order for us to do better as a group, we need to do better as individuals.
you're right
Pardon me, can I interrupt this youth bashing for a little bit?
Is it not true that the last 2 presidential elections had the highest youth voter turnout, or am I remembering something wrong?
Assuming that the old farts have adequate backgrounds...
You don't need an adequate background once you've been in your seat a decade or 2. The strength of being an incumbent is real, which is why we need term limits everywhere.
Plus I think you would also need to get the youth vote to be a lot higher than it currently is, one or two voices of change in the sea will easily get drowned out.
about the whole thing, trying to tell me to stay away completely from it. more or less, she was trying to tell me in some way shape or form you're going to get your hands dirty if you try to advance, hence why she got out of politics. she had seen enough bad politics just from working close to others during those few years that she knew she would have to begin to engage in them if she stayed any longer or if she wanted to advance further. instead, she's become more of an activist in the community so she can stay in touch and not sacrifice her character and integrity.
