Depends on the content that you show them.
I say by 8 because in my opinion u shouldn't be completely oblivious about the subject at 10+ years.

I would at 6 or 7...maybe even 5 
By 4-5 I'd be teaching them about the place we all come from, soon after I would tell them about slavery.

My son has been asking me about death and telling me he doesn't want to die, and that he knows what the end of the world will look like ever since he went to one of his great grandmother's funeral and since his mothers' church talked about Revelations. Dont do it breh, they minds aren't really capable of dealing with that information in an acceptable manner in my opinion

Great question.....I would suggest as soon as possible. Reading and learning about slavery in the classroom, especially if his classmates are predominantly white, can be a traumatic experience. At least as a parent you can control the information to your discretion, and help modulate whatever sort of emotional reaction he or she might have.
If they can sit in bible study at 5, they can have this conversation too
Im not saying they can't, I just dont like what goes on his head after he hears it. He'll likely go around thinking all the white kids are racist when in fact they dont know shyt about that stuff yet. I rather give him a couple years

As soon as they ask me. If they don't ask then I'd prolly tell em in the early years of elementary school, but I'ma be kickin game to my kids from the start. It's probably best to start with positive things first before you swerve it into something like that.
I agree. As a child before 8, introduce them to black power and black children's book. By the time you tell them about slavery, they will already be developing a posittive sense about blacks and could ask the right questions about slavery
