There is a reason why the military uses semi-auto in many situations. Most gun aficionados will tell you that semi-auto is more effective in almost every real life situation. A semi auto bcg almost always have a better cyclic rate than a full auto. Not only that, semi auto is far more accurate and deliberate. Unless you are in the trenches feeding a ww1 machine gun, a semi auto is a far more effective killing weapon.

I'm tired of the "Its my right to have firearms", "Its my right to defend myself" argument when it comes to gun ownership and gun laws. Look up the statistics on self defense gun deaths vs criminal gun deaths it is clear what guns are actually used for.
For every one criminal killed in self defense by a gun 34 innocent people are killed. That's a staggering number....34 to 1. Add in suicides and it becomes 78-1.

People want to blame mental health only when it comes to mass shootings, but what about all criminal shootings? Are every one of those due to mental health? fukk no. It is greed, jealousy, gang life, racist cops.....guns kill people everywhere, every day more so than they are used for "good" purposes and the reason is that accessibility to guns is so easy thanks to the "Its my right" argument.
While I do not believe what was written in the Constitution should be amended or straight up abolished, it is clear as day we need some sort of controls and checks and balances that actually work for gun control and gun ownership. Not everyone is fit to own a gun yet it is everyone's "Right" to.
There is clearly a gun problem in our country and all the self defense people are too damn blind to see it.
AR15 style rifles do not belong in the hands of citizens. If you need it to hunt, you suck at hunting. If you need it to defend yourself, you clearly got bigger issues. If you think it'll save you from Government tyranny, take a look at the Ferguson footage to know what you're up against and think about it again. If Russia invades, that gun ain't gonna make a difference.

But to me, that right should not include the access to weapons that can cause such carnage in such a short time frame for all citizens. Just my two cents....

i'm not against strict gun laws... I never have been.
I've fired an AR15 probably 30 times in my life (went to military school), and I am quite aware of how easy it would be to kill a lot of people with one.
I'm not ignorant of the fact that these are weapons designed for dealing death.
I've had a gun pulled on my 3 times in my life, and in that moment I had no way of telling if they were legal carriers or not.
