dude you're making this sound a little too easy to pull off. shyt sounds like it would need a godlike balancing team.
In addition to that, what publisher would fund this expensive ass project, knowing that fighters are mega niche and won’t likely break budget?

yeah it's a huge task since you'll basically have to please everyone and make sure this game don't end up looking like Xenoverse.

i said this a few mk's ago. its time for the fighting games to evolve into open world fighting games. where you can CHOOSE to fight side ways or in 3d with a more zoomed out approach.

open the world up. have quests, etc. have people walking around in the same world with certain characters or their own created characters doing all sorts of quests and what not. and if you cross someone's path you can crew up or scrap it up. your choice. you can choose to go to the sideways old school fight mode if you scrap or the new way with a further zoomed out look. you rank up with how you fight, combos pulled off and especially your win or loss ratio. and who you beat. if you hold your own vs someone ranked way higher than you. it increases your rank by a lot. and people can tell your rank by the garb you wear. it also boosts certain aspects of your abilities of your choice.
Sounds like you want one of those DBZ games :heh:

MK9 >>>>> MK10 >>>>>> MK11

MK9 was just an all around smooth ass game. I like that the characters didn't have these lame ass variations. They should have just stuck to the MK9 format. All the characters having an O.D amount of special moves because is what made the game hot. The grabbing and uppercutting in mk9 were smoother too. Mk11 grabs are janky, akward and easy to miss. The combos are a little janky too. Mk10 was cool but i dont like the way most of the characters look.

I do have a love hate relationship with the moves being changed and half the characters being changed for each MK. Like the shyt really pisses me off because i want to pick up the sticks and serve nikkas real quick but i have to relearn every goddamn thing but its dope because it cleans the slate for everyone unlike a Tekken or SF.

what MK should learn from Tekken is keep all the characters...yeah its a lot of characters but MK would be a lot better with everyone on the roster.

I get that changing the roster keeps the replay value of the old games but think about how dope that Freddy Vs Jason would have been if they carried over the characters.

I agree with most of this except I think MK11 is better than MKX. The stages and most of the designs in MKX were horrible. MK11 really feels like an MK game. MK9, to me was the best in the series. It really took the best of MK1-3 and crossed it over into the new generation.

The flaws of MK11 is:

- Roster; the MK9 roster should've returned with some of the 3D era characters added

- Story; several missed opportunities with Noob/Scorpion, Sub Zero/Noob, Dark Raiden, Cetrion, Shao Kahn

-Grinding; we shouldn't have to work that hard for simple color variations of the same skins. Story mode and the Krypt would've sufficed

I really agree with giving all of the characters their original moves. I think they messed up Noob's ghostball. I think it should work like Sub Zero's freeze, but it should use some of his stamina. What made it over powered in UMK3/Trilogy is that it stayed on the opponent for quite a bit of time even after being hit. You could perform two long strings of combos and end a match with that one move. That move was also super fast.

I would've like to see the return of Jax's MK2 energy waves, Kitana's square wave punch, and Sonya's upward bicycle kick.

Ermac isn't in the game, but if he returns in the future, they should have his green energy blasts explode on the opponent like in UMK3/Trilogy.

I played 11 some more. I'm starting to fukk with it. Frfr the only reason I like 10 better than 11 is because of Jackie's machine gun. I don't have a new gen, I just play with my homies. That's why everything I based my opinion had to do with character selection/moves. It sucks they make nikkas do the most in a game to get shyt. Especially when u know the complete edition is dropping in a year and a half

Turn off that release button thing in the settings and the gameplay plays so much faster and smooth

They should've added secret characters too. I mean it would be worth it if you grinded through the towers for hidden characters as a reward at the end and you played additional towers to unlock skins and gear for hidden/secret fighters. They could've even had towers in which you fought secret/hidden characters. MK fans have been very vocal about who we wanted in the game. It would've been cool to have been rewarded with a Mileena, Reptile, Rain, Ermac, Smoke, Kenshi, or Nitara.

Better than X by a wide margin but the nostalgia will always make 9 & MKT the GOATS. What this game really needs is the release of the DLC, they should've had at least one by now.

because it is stale. you know it, i know it. and we all know it. sure its a niche thing. but its still stale. by your logic it should've never progressed from the original street fighter. by your logic there should've never been any other types of fighting games. because its a niche market...dont change a thing.

Put it this way. I bet my next check, if someone were to put together a proper open world where you could roll around in clans with your own dojos teaching your own styles, that you have chosen and are perfecting throughout the game. everybody and they great granny would hop on that game, including the super fighting games heads. especially if it was made to still have a choice to fight the old school way , side to side. understand what i'm advocating for. This is going back into where fighting games get their bump from, which was martial arts movies. yes i know there is a fighting game out that pays homage to the old school movies. thats not my point. my point is to make it more like those movies, and more realistic with some video game flare. open it up a bit in an open world format and allow us to join in each others dojos and what not to learn new fighting styles and rank up. you could still have tournaments and what not. your could have clan clashes, but it wouldnt be so stale like it has been in MK's last few installments. even though i give them props for implementing a few new things into the genre.
they could have it setup where people would no longer quit if they are catching that beat down. you make it so that if you are challenged and you are losing and about to catch the beats. the other guy can choose to show you mercy. if he does, you will have to grant him some of your style(s)-power(s)-projectile throwing, etc. if he chooses to "finish" you. Then he can't get your power nor styles but he does rank up a lot faster than the mercy guy. you the loser can gain rank points in in loses by allowing someone to show you mercy vs running away which you can choose to do to which will subtract rank points and hit you with that yellow color on your back to let everyone know you're afraid to fight.
I've been fantasizing about the same thing for half my life. I have that game in my head and I'm gonna make it within the next decade.
