The fukking irony.

Give me one example of the black church that has the bodies attached to it like Jonestown, Heaven's Gate. Give me one example of the average church, not them Creflo dollar bozos either, I'm talking the local church within your vicinity, that has resulted in using violence, intimidation and brainwashing of a congregation.
Which one?

Here's some homework for you, assuming you a) are black b) live in a predominately black area, you should actually meet up and attend your local church. Folks there are more than willing to be open up and reciptive to you on how they operate and what it is they all do. You'll be surprised more often than not.

I think it’s one in the same. I guess for me it’s seeing what people are willing to give/ sacrifice… in both. Idk I’m probably wrong .. I’m willing to be schooled 🤷🏽‍♀️

I think religions have some sort of license or something that make them official

It’s like the difference between big pharma and regular drug dealers

Or retail banks and loan sharks

Something like that

I think they're one in the same but society has placed the word "cult" as some type of negative thing even though what you see in media portrays that. For the most part some cults follow certain aspects of religion but it seems like they kick people out or control lives to a certain degree.

Was Christianity considered a cult while he was alive?

My understanding is that it was a political movement and not a religious one at all. The religion came later. It was just another attempt by a bunch of radical Jewish zealots to try to defeat the Romans and they failed, as the various Jewish revolts usually did. This is why they were all crucified. Crucifixion was the legal mode of execution for traitors, deserters, and rebels. Although Roman citizens found guilty of treason specifically were not crucified, but instead were flung from the Tarpeian Rock, a 30 metre high cliff in Rome

Now I don't think Jesus was ever a Roman soldier, so he couldn't have been crucified for desertion. It must have been for fomenting and participating in a Jewish revolt against the empire

Cults have certain practices and follow specific patterns. One of those patterns is that they tend to isolate new initiates from their environment (family, friends, etc.), manufactures hostilities between them, which, then in turn, creates an environment where the initiate is dependent on the cult and the relationships that they form therein, which makes it easier for them to be manipulated.
