cults depend on brainwashing and control over the members by some supreme leader who is validated by God or claims some higher form of spirituality

Cult leaders are always great deceivers of people :demonic:

Cults also seem to always revolve around some type “end days prophecy” or universal truth that ends up being proven false soon enough :skip:

And then the cult gets exposed and dies out with their leaders also dead and people wake up and leave the cult

You can’t expose a legitimate leader or stop religious movement like Christianity for example so it’s not considered a cult. It stands the test of time and becomes an institution that usually does good for society.

Cults are like failed religions/businesses or movements without a “blue check” if you was to compare it to that of social media today. They aren’t trustworthy or “official”.

And most cults aren’t original either they’re usually a bad rehash or remix of another older more established and credible religion.... like a fake page or catfished identity scam.

On another note,

You could say Islam in its early stages was a “Muhammad cult”, who’s members were not known as Muslims but just “believers” who weren’t exactly Jewish or Christian by definition and followed Muhammad as they thought he was the God appointed leader during what they considered the “end times” from the Bible.
I concur.

The cultist sells people his followers a dream. Using manipulation to control, exploit and influencers others to follow their word. Leading the blind of the blind to deception.

The biggest cults in history such as Nazi Germany and KKK were driven by fear, ignorance and politics.

To reword this thread, there's a BIG difference between organized religion and spirituality. Spirituality delves on the cosmic nature beyond our existence like energy fields. Science such as astronomy, chemistry and physics validates the context of spirituality. For example, chemistry talks about how the human body consists of certain elements that thrives on survival such as water, oxygen, carbon, magnesium, etc. Astronomy talks about. law of thermodynamics - energy cannot be created nor destroyed but only transferred. Physics talks about how our human existence is composed out of subatomic particles

Religion is more of a concrete belief system and code of ethics to follow. In history, extremists had used religion as a scapegoat to create their own cults such as Isis.

The biggest victims susceptible to cults are those looking for a messiah to lead their lives for them.

Cults tend to get way too involved in the members personal lives

Religion you can just to church 1 day a week and not be involved again until the next week.

For Religion in “Christianity” at least you technically dont need to go to church at all. It’s more about your personal beliefs and relationship with God

For other religions and cults people are really motivated and dependent on how the Cult/community serves your needs and gives you a “family” or a physical human leader to follow. And you must be living with the cult members or strictly interact with only other cult members and always be active and involved in the cult and do XYZ as the leader commands (meanwhile the leader does whatever he wants:banderas:)

Cults basically take over peoples lives

There should be freedom in Religion to still live a normal life while following that religion and not feel like you’re in the army or a prison

No lie. I was in church one time and sht spooked me seeing how everybody was watching the pastors every move. When he smiled, they smiled, when he clapped and jumped up they’d do the same. If something humored him a couple would throw out dry or light laughs.

In my head I’m like damn… replace what he talking bout with some crazy sht out the movies and what we have here is a cult :ohhh:

Nobody should hang on no man or woman word like folks do in church. Mfs g sht become drones.
