Silver spring, MD to Miami, FL back in January. Enjoyed the fvck out of it. Started the trip in a winter jacket and ended up in a Tshirt by the time I got to Southern Georgia with the sunshine in my face :blessed:

Memphis
19 hours straight;
Memphis to Grand Forks AFB(I was hyped up off gummi worms and energy drinks). I was like 20 so I believe that’s why I was able to do it.

Last Friday I drove from Memphis to Denver(16-17 hours).

Thats my last trip straight through over 6 hours. I will never do that again. I’m 32 and honestly probably wouldn’t have made it if it wasn’t for the grace of God. I was mentally and physically exhausted. Plus driving through Kansas was boring as hell.

Southeast DC
DC to Atlanta was 10-12 hours. I did that trip ONCE my first time going to Dragoncon. All that construction and stop and go traffic up and down 85 tired me out. Now I catch the train for that trip.

DC to Orangeburg, SC and back. That's an 8 hour drive both ways.

Lessons learned: Do not try to push yourself to drive on. Stop off and crash out at a rest area or a truck stop before you blink and wake up in a ditch. Them rumble strips on highway shoulders are life savers.

I go to Mississippi every year or so. That's about an 11 hour drive for me. Once it took 16 hours because I was hauling a car on a U-haul trailer. Never again. Fastest was 9 hours. Got two speeding tickets. One in Illinois, one in Missouri.

ATL via Tre 4
Drove from Houston TX to Los Angeles in a uhaul truck helping a friend move. Took around 24 hours. Took the I-10.

I doubt I’ll ever do that again. Not a lot of trees out west, and saw small little dust tornados along the way in New Mexico and Arizona. Texas was the worst part of the drive. Felt like I’d never get out of that state
