The question is checking account...not savings. You all keep that much in a checking account?

I have an emergency fund in a high yield savings.
Cap doesn't require one to read :heh:

Average American only has $500 because they have bills to pay, kids to feed, and unexpected emergencies with stagnant wages, and a higher cost of living.

It has more to do with how many people have anchored themselves into simply not having money as "normal", and lifestyle creep eating up all the potential money they could save.

People will legit incur unnecessary expenses simply because they can "afford" it.

Let's not even talk about "Girl Math" :heh:

Do you agree with this below? :patrice:

“A common rule of thumb for how much to keep in checking is one to two months' worth of expenses. If your monthly expenses are $4,000, for instance, you'd want to keep $8,000 in checking. Keeping one to two months' of expenses in checking can help you to stay ahead of monthly bills.”

Note: In 2020 the Federal Reserve reportedthat only 64% of Americans had enough money on hand to cover a $400 emergency. :damn:
There should be a ladder system 3 months of basic expenses in checking 3 months in savings and six months in a money market account.

I spend a lot sometimes and want to be able to payoff my credit card expeditiously

Example:

In the past week or two

My dog had surgery
Car needed tires and brakes and my AC serviced
Wife copped Usher tickets and Roots picnic tickets
I booked a flight for July
I might cop the ultra watch
And I might cop a MacBook

i use a credit card. I just like to pay it off daily or weekly not monthly because I was bad with my credit card in my 20s so I don’t trust myself 😅

I pay mine off the same day sometimes when I buy shyt. I made four payments today alone :merchant:

I’m a little OCD 😔

sometimes it be like that..

50k @ apple/gs @ 4.25%

3k @ wf for bills

10k @ chase for whatever i wanna splurge on
