No way 45k is decent in Chicago, 45k=65k down there brehDepends on what exactly comfortably means. Vacations, night life, kids, eating out or groceries, etc
In Ga, I would say around 45k minimum to live comfortably for ME. I know ppl doing it on less tho
Nice area and a decent amount of space (square footage) is around 850+(Downtown Atlanta area a lot more).Really? What's rent like in a decent spot?
NYC
Over 80k is a must.
You guys are crazy. I'd say 60k if you're single and live outside of Manhattan.Shiiiiitttt I'd say 120k. Most people making 80k still have roommates or live extremely far from Manhattan. The rent is too damn high.
Depends on who you ask brehNo way 45k is decent in Chicago, 45k=65k down there breh
I work in real estate. The questions was how much to live v COMFORTABLY. Most landlords want 40x the monthly rent in income. At 60k that's 1500 a month MAX. And most people try not to spend right at their max so someone with that income is probably looking to spend 1200 a month max on rent. Still got utilities, groceries, cell phone, metro card, etc etc. There's a reason studies show the majority of the country has less than $500 in savings. You guys are crazy. I'd say 60k if you're single and live outside of Manhattan.
New car the stupidest thing you can buy so scratch that off but everything else listed in moderation is reasonable.Depends on who you ask breh
Does comfortable for you include vacations, night life, a new car, savings every year, shoes, clothes, etc.?
I agree with you on the car thing, but public transportation (while you save for a car) while making 45k, is not the move in Ga. You can get something with low payments. Doesn't have to be new. Let's say you were making 65k in Chicago. How much would you want to save every year?New car the stupidest thing you can buy so scratch that off but everything else listed in moderation is reasonable.
Id want to save at least 10-15k up for whatever(investments, possible real estate purchase later down the road, rainy day fund)I agree with you on the car thing, but public transportation (while you save for a car) while making 45k, is not the move in Ga.
