What's The Normal Age That People Hit That 100k/Year Mark?

I agree, I can get fired at any time, especially in the volatile industry I work in, which is really why ~5 years from now, I'll be more interested in building wealth than attaining a certain salary goal.

However, it will be the skill sets I have learned at my job working for someone, that will allow me to either strike out on my own and build a business or invest my earnings into personal holdings. It takes drive and intelligence to develop those skill sets.

And I don't think I'm downplaying my upbringing at all. My mom had me at 20 years-old, unmarried. No college education. I made more money than she does in my first professional internship. I'm lucky to have been born in America, but I don't come from a privileged background.

Depends.

Some people get a jump start and start out with a seemingly good salary, but then, it doesn't grow that much year to year.
Others are athletically gifted and get a six or seven figure contract offer as a professional athlete in their early 20s.
Some people get a late start and get a ton of education, PhD, MD, JD and live like a pauper while in school. And then when they get out and get a job, it's raining cash.
Some people's salaries grow but in spurts every couple of years when they get a promotion. So it isn't until they get in their 40s and 50s is when they are making six figures.
And others get married to someone where the sum of their salaries goes into the six-figure range.

It's not even about coming from a priveleged place. It doesn't matter where you are from. But there's more to play than just how smart you are and how driven you are. Everyone who applies doesn't get accepted into Harvard, the point is the selectivity. You really think everyone who didn't get accepted into Harvard was "dumber" than you by society's standards? What was the educational system like for you pre-secondary? Let's chop it up on the real.

All ive heard is how making 100K isnt realistic and how its to say it is, so I decided to start applying the same logic to show yall how stupid it sounds. These people dont know anyone making 100K+ they think its not possible, and thats the attitude i HATE.

I cant speak for GOODMAN or any other poster but all im trying to do is show and tell yall that its possible to make a 100K. Key word is POSSIBLE, but the only person who can decide that is YOU

No one is saying it's impossible. Who has said that? It's obviously not true being that we all know at least famous people who are millionaires. It's just not as black and white as you are typing it out to be.

You all keep typing "all you gotta do is be smart and driven" when that's clearly not the only thing. You all don't know people who are/were smart/motivated and yet still do/did not make it? You seriously think that success only is generated from 2-3 factors? And you seriously think that in a country of +300 million is that hard for a GOOD amount people to have those simple 2-3 factors that have pretty much been engrained in peoples brains as necessities since youth? What you all are typing is simply not reasonable or logical.

nikkas have a bad case of confirmation bias in here. Just because fate stacked the deck in your favor doesn't mean it's going to work out favorably for everyone else. Your success and position in this society is dependent upon the "failures" of others. Just the way it works. If everyone was a millionaire we wouldn't have any millionaires.

Harvard selects for certain personalities. Their ideal student has the right mixture of leadership, intellect, and motivation qualities. Most kids who apply to Harvard contain an adequate amount of these qualities to do well in life even if they aren't accepted. I didn't go to Harvard but I don't think I'd be doing much better if I had applied and was accepted there.

And real talk, I went to a Montessori school for two years, but my time there was so short that I don't think it had any meaningful impact on my life. Most of my education was done in average public schools with uninspired teachers who left no influence on me. I taught more to myself as a kid than I ever learned from school.

If you have a defeatist attitude towards life, you will be defeated. 5 months ago I was working at Petco making 8 bucks an hour and hating every minute of it. I quit, started my own business, and now im on pace to make more than both my parents combined. Took my first trip to the Bahamas 2 weeks ago and lived on a boat in the middle of an ocean for a week.

Banged, you can do what you love and make more than you do now. Just find something you love to do so much you'll do it for free, then start a business around that or find someone to pay you for it

2nd off the odds of you ever making that are fairly low.

2nd off 100k is not as much as you think it is. It's a healthy living but the bills and shyt will put you right back to earth.

On your first point, so you don't think there's ANY kid who got into Harvard based off who they knew? Or even on an adjusted grading scale (ie. Affirmative action) ONLY those with the mix of things you listed? Convenient idea, but not true. We both have enough common sense to know that, so let's scratch your point there as wrong.

You may think that your time in Montessori school did not help, but, especially, if you were younger when you went, a lot people would say that had a big impact on the way you were meant to see education, which is probably why you were not satisfied with teachers later, but you still had that foundation/earlier period of formative education.

6 figs isn't the magical # it once was. In 20 years, most people will be making a 6 figure salary.

lol, no they wont. MOST people will be BROKE. there's a reason they say the rich get richer(not saying 100k is rich cause it isnt).

and the poor gets poorer.

there's a reason why they say the middle class is turning into the top edge of the lower class.

in 20 years unless things change drastically and we as a whole from top down start carrying about one another. there will be a FEW rich folks. and everyone else will be fighting over the scraps.
