Imagine thinking relationships/households where only one person works are gonna be the norm in 2022. My chick is a civil engineer and about to start working for her masters, and I'm about to start my second business.
You clowns and bums stuck in the 90's.

My point is the concept of breadwinner as we are discussing here to a degree is antiquated. A large problem with society is the inability to contextualize the time they are living in. Consistently cherry-picking what they like from the past without recognizing the landscape of the present. Is it ideal for one person in 2022 to be working and bringing home most if not all the money when everything is more expensive? Is it ideal for a man to be the sole breadwinner and be financially vulnerable if his wife decides to up and leave him bc it’s much easier to do so today? To me it makes more sense for both parties to have skin in the game and both parties working towards the same goal especially when they are both capable of doing so. Almost equal stake. How y’all both breadwinners if one is making more than the other. Call it how it is![]()
-Breadwinner 1: A member of a family whose wages supply the family's principle or only means of support.Didn’t know that what breadwinner means..

-This is the definition generally used in most conversations. You literally can't both be the primary provider.
-Are you slow? The person who comes out of pocket the most to support the family's the breadwinner, it's typically the person with the highest income. Even when you split costs somebody ends up paying more than the other.
