What's the point of producing Xbox systems if they don't sell?

It not even about outselling PlayStation anymore, that ambition died on the beach with the reveal of the Xbox one.

It’s about being able to sell enough to commit chip fabrication. I don’t see an Xbox branded pc being able to sell 15m+ consoles especially without retail presence

They cancelled their handheld for the same reason

I’ve only ever paid for 2k and Tom Clancy The Division 2. My kids don’t even want to play Fortnite on XBox anymore. Terrible purchase tbh.

Still own a series x and will keep the series x to play games from the previous gens with enhancements and a number of games on gamepass. All other current gen/cross gen games are played on the switch or ps5. I wouldn't buy one now though. The next xbox won't be a buy either since by then I will be playing on the switch 2, ps6, and pc.

From a consumer standpoint, the benefit is that there another option. The market will always benefit from there being alternate options. I just wish they were better at both reaching new buyers in a more concise and effective way, and giving their current dedicated fans more of what they want.

The Series X was my first XBox, and while I'm pretty certain that it'll be the last one that I purchase, I'm still glad that I was able to give it a try, and that it's there for those that are interested.

Competition..can't have one or two companies running shyt or they gon start with the anti customer practices..which some are already doing for a minute
Microsoft are not in the business to be competitive with Sony or Nintendo anymore hence the day one multi platform approach.

They are a partner publisher. Releasing a $1000 handheld and a pc “hybrid” for over 1000 isn’t gonna compete with a ps6 or switch 2/oled

Whatever they release next will be as niche as the steam deck is

Y’all gotta give up on that old way of thinking. The console market can’t support 3 platforms equally anymore
