What's the point of producing Xbox systems if they don't sell?

Lol at people thinking microsoft is going to be able to retain the same 30 million userbase releasing ‘hybrid pc’s’ without retail presence.

Half the xbox series owners bought the -$300 dollar version like @ORDER_66

And they not buying the overpriced versions at all :mjlol:

once again autistics misinterpreting shyt

I'm still surprised this forum is standing

people ask questions but dont want answers
for Microsoft to stay in the game or remain relevant, they need to PC crossover... they should have done it last generation
they've done nothing growth wise besides expand a streaming service and put a label on someone elses handheld
the ability to play PC games and Xbox games onto PC would buy them some time ... I'm sure the autistics dont understand the difference between PC gamepass and normal gamepass though. It should have never been separate, you should be able to play PC games on Xbox by now

The better question is if a company makes a product you aren't interested in why do you care if they make it or not? Sony made PlayStation VR and it doesn't really sell all that much. I'm not bothered that they make it but I'm also never buying one.

We all know the next Xbox won't outsell the PS6, so why waste the time & money producing something that'll just collect dust and become a mountain dew coaster for those living in a double wide?

:jbhmm:
Ive been wondering this myself but they're dead set on making consoles...just make a PC

Microsoft are not in the business to be competitive with Sony or Nintendo anymore hence the day one multi platform approach.

They are a partner publisher. Releasing a $1000 handheld and a pc “hybrid” for over 1000 isn’t gonna compete with a ps6 or switch 2/oled

Whatever they release next will be as niche as the steam deck is

Y’all gotta give up on that old way of thinking. The console market can’t support 3 platforms equally anymore
So again why are they making a new console

The need for Consumer facing hardware like the surface

They don’t want to be seen as a faceless tech giant. Also it’s another platform to run their AI and data streaming initiatives through

Still own a series x and will keep the series x to play games from the previous gens with enhancements and a number of games on gamepass. All other current gen/cross gen games are played on the switch or ps5. I wouldn't buy one now though. The next xbox won't be a buy either since by then I will be playing on the switch 2, ps6, and pc.
This is where I am.

Got PS5 for games that the whole family would play (Ghost of Yotei, Horizon etc) and then Xbox for shyt only I'd play (any kind of Soulsborne shyt).

Bought both on launch night..think it was November 2020 for boffem but separated by a couple of nights. No regrets.

I had the OG Xbox and the 360. Both consoles were great purchases.

I haven't had the urge to purchase another Microsoft console since. I may get a used series x to play my library with the enhancements tho. I have waaay too many xbox/360 games to just let them sit on the shelf.

PC nikkas not buying that shyt
and consoles nikkas not buying a system that costs way more than Playstation
that 30 mil getting cut in half
It genuinely boggles my mind that people parrot Xbox foolishness like they know WTF they are doing :dahell:

I think it was stated that it was a 70/30 split with S being the greater percentage.

I'm going to say something controversial, Microsoft are too ahead of the game to make their products work.

Windows Phones had great hardware. But didn't have the apps to support it.

Zune had a Spotify like subscription where you could stream music, way before streaming was mainstream. Rather than sit on things and become a player in the market, Microsoft rushes to be the first
