What's the real reason you aren't on Social Media heavy?

what is the real reason, void of all bitterness and reserse-hatred for the system (ex. "It's shallow, and vain, blah blah") I see a lot of ppl talk about all the reason social media "sucks".

Let's be really 100% here. Most of the nikkas here are here way too often to have a really exciting life. I'm not judging either; I just assume you're low-status in real life, especially if ur spending time critiquing everything negatively.

Are you afraid/anxious when using non-anon social media? Are you just embarrassed by how little status you have? Do you avoid it because you can't lie when your face is attatches to it?

it takes too much effort and the return is not appealing

i dont need validation from strangers and friends so consistently posting for likes doesnt mean anything to me

Perhaps you'd have to carry yourself different and let some things slide but it seems like a common "excuse" to avoid the painful reality that you are not of "value" socially.

Personally, I am just too lazy to stay on social media. I have stints where I'm on it heavy for months then I won't be on for months. I don't post much but I get my news on here. But I REALIZE THE IMPORTANCE.

I hate my generation...became a bunch of narcissistic losers that take pictures of fukking food and take pictures of themselves in the bathroom so they can show their friends that they gonna text to to meet them at a location and then be on their phones all night and not even talk to each other until it time to take pictures of themselves and then post them on social media and pretend that they like each other...

i've worked in HR departments that checked peoples social media that ended up costing them jobs they had locked up
it's mostly a bunch of idiots and senseless drama

i got group texts/correspond regularly with all my good friends/family on my phone. i don't need to have acquaintances i've talked to/seen a few times since high school in my business.

To me it's a negative view of the world. You can not care for validation and still have social media. Because the same ppl who say this log on to Reddit and thecoli religiously and post their opinion all day

Not saying you do it. But being anonymously online still fits the purpose just without any return on your real life.

It's like having ideas or a product you never sell. Having a skill you never tell anyone about. If these are your words and thoughts why not own them and potentially benefit from them in real life?

I can see the points you're trying to make and I can relate to the latter, I think due to my concerns about privacy I never let myself get carried away with it and thus it never really caught my interest like that. To each their own.
