i've had psycho ex's add family members/friends
i've worked in HR departments that checked peoples social media that ended up costing them jobs they had locked up
it's mostly a bunch of idiots and senseless drama

i got group texts/correspond regularly with all my good friends/family on my phone. i don't need to have acquaintances i've talked to/seen a few times since high school in my business.

People are idiots for using their real names. One can have airtight privacy. Do not actually add employment history to ones profile.

I'm actually always on social media - forums are technically social media too though

Problem is I use facebook as my goto SM platform but everybody else is live on snapchat, instagram or twitter.

I post on Instagram to slowly try to build up my followers. I'm not as consistent as I should be.

I don't fukk with Facebook because stupid people bother me and I feel the need to comment. It pisses people off that I comment. I'm not high society.

After working in the IT field for a number of years I've learned to keep myself and my information off of social media and the internet at large. You cannot find my name or anything about me and I prefer it that way

I do freelance front-end web development amongst other things and I am very particular about the projects/people that I work with. I'm in a unique position where most of my work is through referral or through companies that I've already worked for so I see no need to have a Linkedin page. I realize that's not gonna be possible for everybody.
