I think forums are way better. You can speak your views frankly and you actually get an interesting range of subjects to talk about. Social media is shyt, just people putting up pictures and videos of themselves and what they're doing in the moment. You can't have a decent discussion about anything.

I'm also old fashioned in that I prefer to spend time with my friends in person.

Don't get discouraged fam.

What most these buzzing artists don't tell you is that they're networking behind the scenes. Their dm'ing people and going to parties and performances to link up with people who are hotter than them online.

When they get to know em in person, they start communicating online, then other people start to notice and follow that person on social media too.

1# I dont need ear and eye hustlers.
you will never be able to put a finger on how
I move/where i live etc

2# If I aint seen you in 15 years youre
not important to me.....important people
got my numbers.

3# I dont need to show off for mutha fukkas.
The haters and cops got enough nikkas to
deal with already.

4# aint nothing like people seeing you out
and being genuinely happy to see you because
they have had no way to get in contact with you.

5# I was there for the Myspace era.
if you missed it you dont know what a
real feast is......it'll never happen again.

You have to really know who and what you are to be heavy on social media IMO

if you lack self awareness or tend to seek external motivators/validation you're setting yourself up for a painful experience. I'm not here nor on social for either of those

I like using message boards and social media, it's helped me meet some real good people and contacts that I may never have otherwise been able to get in touch with. I maintain my privacy just fine

Filtering thru fukkery, drama etc is worth it for that alone.

What exactly is the importance and potential of social media? If you're not an entertainer, meh...

I've had IG before but barely posted and deleted it. I like having my privacy and I don't really care about celebrities or gossip. Only reason I could see having it is to stay in contact with close people, but anyone who's close to me has my number.

Good question. I truly believe that since we (other humans) are all we have to communicate with equally, it is important to develop the lifestyle and skills involved as well as make as many real life connections as possible.

If no one knows what you can do, or that you exist, then you won't succeed.

Everything in this world takes others. In 2017 money doesn't mean nearly as much as social currency and awareness.

The benefit at the very minimum is mental health and being in touch with reality. Passive income.

I mean, you don't have to spill your guts on social media people.

A face pic, maybe a new pic once a week...and still keep your privacy

:yeshrug:

Exactly. It's an excuse, we see through it. No ones telling you to post anything personal.

Knowing social media is the future and it's potential when used right, it's like letting your child go to college and not telling them the importance of being making connections. Grades are the priority but the world is who you know not what you know.

Hell this was my girls last semester as a Mech Engineer and she was out of money for financial aid, and both her legal guardians passed away last year. she wasn't gonna be able to finish but had connects at the university. They paid for her semester and housing with a scholarship that they made up specifically for her.... that's how I see it.

yup

A lot of cats are resistant to change (understandably) but you've gotta make adjustments here and there to the world you presently live in instead of the one you wish or once did.

I've got family that lives out of state that snapchat helps me stay connected to in a way that was impossible a few years ago. I don't give a damn about dog filters or any of that crap but being able to see my people do their thing in relative real time is cool shyt

I was heavy on social media up to last year.

After the election though I had enough.

Made me do a lot of self reflection about myself and people I knew.

I know it sounds bad,but sometimes ignorance is bliss. It's not healthy to carry around anger all the time, and the things you see on social media were making me unhappy.

If I don't have you on my phone contacts you probably weren't important to me anyway so I don't feel I'm missing anything.

I don't fukk with Facebook because stupid people bother me and I feel the need to comment. It pisses people off that I comment. I'm not high society.

This right here. Someone says something so stupid you almost have to say something. If you do 10 other stupid people show up and make you out to be the bad guy.
