What's the real reason you aren't on Social Media heavy?

I do use social media but I mostly use it to interact with the 20-30 friends I love the most. Once it gets to the hundreds of people who ‘follow’ me I get hesitant to put out much of my private life.
I had someone harass an ex-gf of mine some years ago cause they saw we go together on IG. That and a few other examples made me rethink how much I put out for everybody to see.
Not to mention some of it is a crazy time-waster. I’ve refused to ever download TikTok cause I know how much time I’d lose scrolling on that shyt.

I was a very early adopter of social media. I think I just hit my personal limit on it. I remember building with people from all over and it being a positive experience but by the time I quit I just realized every time I’d log on itd be a bunch of bs really. I don’t miss it all now. Social media today is more of a hey look at/listen to me and isn’t worth the time invested for me anymore.

Never really been my thing, at least since my teens. It feels so fake and phony, which is a huge petpeeve for me.
Plus, tbh its mentally draining. Wheter yall honest or not you start comparing yourself to others supposed lifestyle and thats why we see alot of depression and teenage behavior from "adults" on there.
I did get on Facebook like 5 yrs ago but i recently deactivated it. Good to connect with fam and older friends/classmates but after that - dead

As soon as Facebook brought IG, it went downhill. Algorithm keeps changing. Paying for reach is the only way to get traction
Twitter is great once you navigate past the politics, mental crazies and scammers. Great source for finding local and international news
Tik Tok is the best platform out of all. No influencer culture. No curated feed. Just raw entertainment. The best platform for organic reach.
Social media isn’t how it used to be. The craving for artificial likes and followers took the fun out of it.

I ditched facebook after being on there since 2006 cause I realized it was just visual gossip and me trying to fit into other people's lives. Plus it was turning me into a salty ass hater.

Cause I don’t seek validation from people. Also I don’t feel the need or have the mental strength to post 24/7. I only post when I’m on vacation or doing a dope activity
I know quite a few people be lying through social media lol and using it as a metric for how exciting your or others life Is...is narcissistic and competitive.
for example, I was just in Miami and New York. stayed at the pharrel good times hotel with a photogenic woman. could I have used that and posted it? I know many others that would.
I know dudes that are active on social and post shyt that I've done that I thought wasn't worth posting. OP just couldn't recognize that some people are not...like that.
I have a cousin who has 5000 friends/simps on fb, guess who has more of a social life? me. guess who is the better looking of the two? me lol yet....

the only other thing I'll say is that I'm not huge on taking pictures of myself all the time. you kinda need that energy to be an active user.

I think I’m social media’d out. It’s just too much now. I don’t know how old you brehs are but I was on MySpace when it was here, was here for the inception of FB, and of course IG. I don’t use TT at all. Like a bruh said a few posts ago, you’ve gotta be in that mentality to always take pictures and I’m not like that at all now. So I just don’t care.
