I don't know about the food part, but definitely the lack of solid male figures especially fathers. I would say that falls under the umbrella of social engineering. Something I noticed lately, looking at old LA gang photos, those kids back then looked rough. Kid is 17 and looks like he's in his late twenties and in shape. Nowadays though...not so much. Not shytting on the West Coast, but watching some of these youngsters fight nowadays, I don't what that is. That ain't throwing hands to me though. That's what happens when everyone is a shooter.
