I'd say the lack of a rational father figure.
You need someone to balance out mothers who tend to be far too emotional in their responses.

kids tend to mimic what they see and if it's not corrected then

women are more emotional and attention validation seeking than men. No man around enough to check it and your son picks up those tendencies. Even if a man and his baby mom not together, you can still steer your son to not behave like a girl so that's not even an excuse. Uncles, coaches, mentorships, etc. No excuses. Plenty of men around that'll help.
