My guess is that he wants to prove one last time that he can make a household name/ mega star. This is difficult because Vince's understanding of pop culture since 1996 is...limited.

So easy to do too. Just put him in a suit with his hair tied back with a pair of sunglasses with a cocky ass attitude. Have him put over his lineage and have him say he was destined to be this great this soon and you have your next mega heel. And ion know why Vince fails to realize that one of the most profitable times in wrestling were when heels were on top with the NWO. So if the fans are behind someone at the top they will buy the shyt and support them no matter if they are face or heel.

It's the fans` fault for creating this weird obsession with anti-heroes/cool heels.
It used to be a time when faces get cheered and heels get booed. That's the point of being a face or a heel.
Unless they're straightor boring, a face should never get booed.
The fans have complicated things.
The wwe should probably start pushing towards having wrestlers being tweeners to counter the fans` reactions towards certain wrestlers.
It's not a good look when roman is doing face tactics, but he's getting heel responses.
He needs to mix it up with some heel tactics. In this age I think it's okay for certain wrestlers to be in that gray area.

It's definitely true. I ain't saying that every face wrestler doesn't get that typical reaction, but the fans have complicated things.
People nowadays love cheering the heels in the wwe.
Jericho and the miz are probably the only ones that do heel tactics and get heat for it.
Reigns is booked better than most of that roster as a face. It's just the fans that's not reacting well not because he's trash or that he's boring; he just gets irrational hate.
Fans react differently nowadays in general.
The typical heel:booed face:cheers ain't the status quo anymore.
If you're good, you'll supercede all that $hit. EVERY fukkING BODY here knows that if Nakamura's music hits next Tuesday LIVE on Smackdwon,it's gonna be one of the pops of the year and he won't have to worry about fans cheering heels against him because they actually respect him and love the kind of work he dishes out week after week.

The crowd will boo Roman regardless because they don't feel him.
They'll never feel him because they know his very existence is not organic and he's in the main event picture because of backstage politics.

Everyone with a "push" is not organic and but they still get cheered. But Vince still has dreams of him being like Rock. THAT part is not gonna happen unless he goes another route first.

lol...the fans like Roman....just not corny-babyface Roman. They liked him in the Shield. They liked him in the RR when he threw out like 12 ppl.
They didn't like him being forced over DB tho. And that's when the boos started.
If he's a full-fledged heel, the boos will continue but it won't be from the ppl booing him now.
It's like Cena. These ppl booing Cena are ppl who were once fans before he became Super Corny Cena.
