1) Getting called by staffing agencies whom call you into an office to tell you they like you and are going to pass along your resume :russ:

2) Having a company call you in for multiple interviews only to not be offered the role. Mothafukka why couldn’t this have been figured out after the 1st interview? :russ:

I can’t front the second never happened to me but the first has

Dealing with staffing agencies. Them hoes gave me incorrect distance and shift hours, and the warehouse was one quick OSHA visit from being shut down

I tell people all the time…

“Imagine meeting a broad that doesn’t want to fukk but thinks her friend might be interested. She then passes your number to her friend for a date. You get dressed up to go on this date but have no idea if the friend will even be attracted to you.”

That’s what it’s like fukking with staffing agencies

Being interviewed to get an interview :dead:
That's basically what those Robert Half type agencies are doing when they make you come in for an "assessment" :mjpls:
I remember I met some 3rd party recruiter at starbucks once, dude basically just wanted to see me in person first. he basically said that straight up. when I was about to leave some ease dropping indian who was sitting behind us started talking to dude about what jobs he had. i never heard from dude again

The multiple rounds of interviews is pretty stupid and wastes everyone's time. Just need a phone screen to make sure you aren't fake, and then a single in-person interview. These gauntlets of a half dozen or more interviews with the whole damn company need to go.

And maybe it's just my company, but they need to tailor technical interviews to the candidates job experience. Should not be asking mid-career candidates questions from 2nd year undergrad. They haven't been in school in a decade, the questions should be related to industry problems that they've dealt with or will deal with in that new role.

Tell me the difference between online dating and job hunting. You go on the internet and search for potential matches, get no response from the majority of places when you spend time putting the right words together, or if you do get a response, it’s not from a real person. When you do get a response from a real person, you decide to have a intro call to get to know each other, only for there to be lack of follow up afterwards. On the occasion that you get a match and decide to meet in person, you put in some effort to impress the other party, only to find out that they have other meetups that day and ask you to repeat what’s on your resume while looking bored the entire time. They’ll say they’ll call you back, but they won’t.

You do this for months in what seems like an endless cycle of bullshyt, and if you don’t give up out of pure frustration, you somehow get lucky and get an offer. You then find out the offer is below your standards. Tired of the bullshyt, you take the offer. Over the span of months, you are largely unsatisfied, and hit up the internet to start the cycle anew. :russ:

Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
When it comes to recruiters don’t take none of them seriously until they get you something.

A black recruiter from a small agency got my my career at the entertainment company I work for now.

Didn’t take him seriously at all until the company said “You are hired”

Yeah they’re people who have seamless experiences but the nikka who has been looking for a long time is hoping for a direct line more than anything
