Whats these superstars excuse for not playing defence?

Why do people always talk like this is some new age, modern problem or something? There have ALWAYS been big time scorers and superstars in the league who didn't D up on anybody.

Dominique Wilkins wasn't shutting anybody down. Neither was Charles Barkley. And on some one-on-one shyt, people were just blowing by Magic and Bird as well. Hell, the 80s was the era of guys not being guarded until they were within 16 feet of the basket.

For a lot of cats it's just a lot more important for them to use their talents and energy for offense as opposed to defense. Only ELITE perimeter players are great at both defense and offense. That's what makes the LeBrons, the Jordans, the Kobes, etc., etc., special.

Durant and Melo are one of those people, More mind boggling is amare stoudamire what a waste...

Kobe is ok now but he was really something when he was younger.

Good Offense always beats good defense....so thats what they put their energy towards, Yeah you got Jordan but he is the goat...

Its all about effort breh, If you getting payed millions and your one of the most gifted people in the world then you have no excuse to be trash on defense.

He aint taking no 25 shots unless you counting freee throws. He averages 16 shots a game. easily the least amount of shot among the top 5 scorer in the league where he ranks #5

I think some of it has to do with their coach.

Yeah, but then you could say that about most players in the NBA. Harden doing more than just chucking. He runs the offense.

I could care less about his individual defense, i just wish he would comit more to the team defense. Individual defense is overated, team defense is where it all matters.

Like I said Kobe was the last great two way player, in the last 2 seasons lebron has improved..but to me thats more spo's philosphy...maybe wade??

btw back on topic : You need energy to play offense. And niccas get paid more for their offense. Defense is just a bonus. its fukked up but thats the way shyt is.

Rondo's not even avery bradley status, he can get steals and sh1t but he dont be shutting guards down,

all rondo has to do is pass, he is like jason kidd was in his prime, which was why kidd was a great defender...
