There has been speculation by hard currency, conservative economists that the dollar will face heavy inflation/depreciation in the near future, so people are investing their money in gold and silver coins.

While I'm not 100% sure, this is what I've roughly gathered over the past year.

so how do I get up on dis, I got a 1k to save/invest. Do i just find a jewellery store and ask how much for sum coins? is there sum sorta quality or mint I'm suppose to be buying?

Precious metals = an inflation-protected investment. Should be part of everyone's portfolio just like stocks, bonds, real-estate, etc...

Buy silver first, then buy gold. Don't buy marked up coins; it's not the face-value you're after but rather the total volume of metal.

mexicans do it too, they just go about it a different way and freely pick up material that has silver and copper in it from your home or business.
