I feel like they may not see it as "necessary" anymore due to their teen years being filled with options like Uber/Lyft, or parents drove them everywhere and could easily call via cell.

When you grew up taking the bus at 6am, payin for taxis (if one stops) or walking everywhere struggling for a ride with no easy way to call one...you gonna want a license/car at 16

NYC been ahead of the curve on this trend.

There's grown adults here that don't drive or own a car.

I think the reason the trend is spreading is because cars aren't cheap, gas is insane, repairs cost a lot, and there's a lot of services(Uber, Lyft) to accommodate non-drivers.

Another factor is that young people are less involved in social gatherings than they've ever been before. In the past, young people were constantly looking forward to hanging out at malls, movies, restaurants, sporting events, etc. Now, they can just speak to each other on text or through social media(IG, Snapchat, Tik Tok, Twitter, Discord, etc.) and be in "the loop" of each other's lives without actually hanging out in person.

Gen Z kids lacking the skills and having no desire to drive. :mjtf:

My cousin's live in boyfriend is 26 and doesn't have a license and they just had a baby together. I'm looking at him like :gucci:

as you should.

"Live-in boyfriend" that made me chuckle --- fits the description.

They get too much help from their parents.

I know cause it’s me :snoop:

My Daughter is 17 and i’m literally begging her to get her shyt together so she can drive herself around.

She’s in no rush cause she knows ima just take her everywhere she wants to go.

17 years old and has NEVER had to use public transportation or walk/ride her bike miles to get anywhere. By the time i was 17 i had taken busses across the damn state.

My daughter gets door to door service to school everyday by me:snoop:

On the bright side i don’t have to worry about her being out committing fukkerous acts and doing hoodrat shyt with her friends. :manny:

So i guess ima just keep riding her around:ehh:

I remember teaching other New Yorkers in my same age group how to drive for free. These are grown adults I'm talking about.

I gave up eventually because I felt like I had to constantly explain the same things over and over and over again and they still kept insisting that I teach them when I'm behind the wheel because they lacked confidence to go beyond a block when they were driving.

I give all parents who teach their kids how to drive without falling back on a driving school props.

I’ve taken her out myself plenty of times, she “can” drive.

Just by law you have to go to driving school before you can get your license. She’s dragging her feet on that part i even paid the $400 for the class already :smh:

If you live in a big crowded city or take public transportation to work I guess it might make sense. If not then being in a serious relationship with a nikka who can’t drive at all is clown shyt.

As a grown man I couldn’t be in a position where I had to rely on others for transportation on a regular basis. My car was in the shop for a month for extended repairs and I damn near lost my mind dealing with that shyt.

Seriously man. We're so pissed at her. My cousin said he had a job at Best Buy or Gamestop. He came over for Thanksgiving and my aunt was pressing him "D, don't you got to work for Black Friday"? He was like "no". She kept pressing it and made the conclusion that nikka ain't working :mjlol:
