I’m starting to lean towards broke now reading these posts. I’ve still got PTSD from all the fat broads accosting me when my finances were down bad. It’s like they could smell the overdraft fees on me, as if there were a pork chop in my back pocket. :lupe:

What’s worse for one’s self-esteem?

From my experience, I was broke fresh out of college and I got fat during COVID. Both experiences humbled me but one thing I will say, you realize how shallow the world is when you’re overweight.

Even when I was broke, I still had my health and self-esteem. You have neither when you’re fat. People almost want to avoid engaging with you. And the physical ailments? Even though I only gained 30lbs regular shyt was a lot harder to do.

I can live with being broke again because money comes and goes. I could never allow myself to get fat again after being in shape for 95% of my life. :francis:

And if you’re broke and fat…. :francis:

Fat + no debt + making lots of $$ >>> broke & fit

The fat person doing well financially can get with nutritionist/dietitian, find a gym etc., and get that shyt in line.

Being broke would be harder to fix depending on the "why."

well being fat its only a few places you can function normally without extreme prejudice. you basically gotta live in places with other obese people. Now if you broke, you can at least walk down the street and go to another state, start over working on a farm or some shyt.

it aint gonna be pretty but shyt, being obese you may as well hang it up unless you live in America or Mexico in a region known for food. i don't think people understand how rare being fat as shyt is outside of certain countries.

That actually brings up another point. If you’re broke, you can at least hide it (even though subconsciously your anxiety about being broke is going to give you an aura of poverty that people will sniff out). There’s no hiding obesity. You can walk in a room and finesse like you’re getting to a bag. You can’t fool anyone into thinking you’re in shape, especially not in summertime.

If God said I’m either going to be broke, or I’m going to be fat, and it’s for life and I have to choose one or the other, I’d rather just be fat. But if God said I either have to be broke or obese, right now, but it’s up to me to change my situation, I would choose being broke 100 times out of 100.

Obese EASILY.

You can still be in shape and motivated with great ideas and be broke because that shīt is a wave that can pass of you just get off your ass.

You can easily get hoes being broke if you have carisma.

When you’re obese folks look at you like :hhh: out the gate because it’s clear the self control is lacking and you need medical intervention to slim down. Fat dudes legit need $ or extraordinary talent to get “love” and respect and people see you as fat first and then whatever else you are is a distant second.
