Has the card company ever ask you to prove income when requesting a limit increase?
Not me but that was cuz my first cards wasnt regular like discover or capital one they was usaa while i was in the military so they knew my rank so they knew my income.

Be careful askin for CLI cuz thats usually a hard pull(i think amex does soft pulls for increases tho).

Usaa was stingy with my first card about credit limit increases. Applied for their better card and got approved with double the limit of the other card:skip:

Sometimes companies auto increase credit limits too. Id say for your first year play cool and just keep using your card at under 30% utilization and then ask for the increase. I have heard of companies gettin suspicious occasionally and asking for proof of income. A lot of the time tho they judge by age.

If you 25 claimin you make 35k a year they prolly won’t ask questions.

No. Most just deny you if they didnt already preapprove instantly. From my experience if they want to actually do a credit pull or verification of something you are probably going to get denied. Luckily most CCs let you know before you proceed if they plan on doing a credit pull. Only exception to the rule I have seen is if they soecificallly ask you how much you want an increase of, and even then they usually just approve for what they feel comfortable with.
Good to know

Just an Amex Delta card, and a regular old Discover IT card.

My job keeps me with an Amex corporate card, but I don’t use that. Whenever I have to take business trips, I use my card to pay and then I’ll expense it afterwards. I just want the points.

It would be helpful if folks listed the benefits of the cards they have and if they're paying an annual fee

I used to have a an AMex Gold, but couldn't justify the annual fee so I bushed it. I could get the same or better rewards without an annual fee on other cards.

Right now I'm just using a BoA Travel rewards card. No foreign transaction fees, and travel rewards that gives me points I use for statement credits for travel expenses. It's pretty much the only card I use. I have other cards but don't use them.

At this time, I don’t have any. Well my mom made me an authorized user on an old navy visa, but that’s it.

No

But I think they will if you put an astronomical number like you make $1000000 per year or something.

I don't even call you can just request a credit increase online.
