Goatganda the pearl of Africa
again the scary thing its still early as the years go by will be even more commonplace

you can literally upload a picture to any of these ai chatbox and get a natural video that looks legit

for music, i think an ai artist was on teh billboard top 100
Xania Monet is the first AI-powered artist to debut on a Billboard airplay chart

I got an mpc 2000 in like 2005 then had the XL and I currently have an mpc 4000 and a Roland 2480.

I prefer hardware because I want to play instruments and make my own music, not be tied to a computer.

When I started I did midi keyboards to reason and stuff. I hated the feeling of coming home from school and work then sitting in front of the computer.

I didn't want to download sound packs and update software, and stuff.
I started with reason 3.0 and a midi keyboard and stayed with it.. took awhile but i got my own sound back then tho nothing beats hardware phantoms, tritons, mpcs anything roland were dope af but i couldnt afford them:mjcry: thats what makes music great tho you use what you got

@Wildin Also about the song bus stop. That's Ai generated but.... I like it because it sounds like something I'd hear in a live performance.
I could see myself in a bar that does that kind of thing, and I'd be like yeah, this is kinda cool.
Your song, gave that Live performance type of feel. Which contradicts what you believe isn't quite possible yet.

Sure its not exactly the same as what you are saying, but its not way off either is my point...

The songs are cool. I mean to go from nothing and being able to hear your idea back in minutes is damn cool, especially if you have nothing. Like your kids can make a song, it's that easy. I can't take credit for them, like I said my boy has notebooks of songs he's written. We just fukked around with ai (all these songs were made like 2 months ago?). I just wanted to play with ai and see what it can do.

That accessibility can't be beat. But even workstations like the mpc live 3
Unbelievably-Fast-Undeniably-Slick.png

It's just a daw in a standalone box, with features so easy you can turn it on, add sounds and samples from a huge library and push the pads and start making music in moments.

No knowledge or experience with instruments, no music theory. And that's good for customers but in a way bad for the artists(?) Everything is so touch and go anyone can be a "producer" or "beat maker". It eventually saturates the market and the hobby (like it is now). That's a huge on going debate....

I know AI can provide the framework. It can give you a beat and you can get the stems (the drums, the guitar, the piano, the bass), the vocals, even the lyrics. And human can tinker with it, add the stems to a daw and manipulate it, change the lyrics, sing it differently. I don't know if AI will ever make something like

That's where I started. Midi keyboards and reason. We all had the unlocked serial and would set it up on each other's computers and go to each other's cribs. That being tied to a computer started to suck. Because even with reason, you can tell when dr dre had a real bass player come in. Or you knew when just blaze was playing the drums for real, or questlove. You know when Pharrell or Chad was on the keys.

Just the computer work felt like programming. So eventually we all just learned real instruments. And got hardware to record it. So did them went on and played in bands. A couple of them play in churches.

But like I said the "ease of accessibility" is what kind of hooked us on to it in the first place. I remember digging my homies keyboard of his basement that he probably hadnt touched in t years and it had midi outputs so instead of a midi controller he had an actual keyboard that had different instruments/sounds on so in his spare time he could actually learn piano/keyboard.

What daw or hardware were you using before you dabbled in Ai?
Nothing really, I've tried things here and there over the course of my lifetime but never long enough to say I used it like that.
I just like writing to instrumentals, was the reason I joined this community back in 03' to just fukk around in the open mic section.
And over the years of writing, you learn how things flow/etc. And I have a constant stream of music my mind just has always made that I wish I was around the type of people that would have helped me translate it into reality.

And then Ai came along.......

Shout out to everyone who is rocking my shyt, I only posted the remixes here and they have taken off to over 800 views in its first 24hrs.
The OG from Page 1 just passed 50 total views and I posted that here and 2 other places days ago :francis:

I still rock with the original so uff y'all nikkaz but what I will do is have a B side to the album. Or a Version 2 of the album.
One with the ones I like the most, and the other with the remixes that I approve of.

Or maybe I'll just have a few "bonus" tracks, idk. But I'll let the people decide which is the stronger version of each song. And that will likely decide which versions go where. As for the original plan, I am to drop 1 song each week up until My bros birthday which is exactly 7 weeks from today.
So I guess I'm due for my next :damn: I'll pick one and drop it shortly.

@Wildin and or whoever, can you give me some feedback on which version is better. One version is closer to the vision but the Ai sometimes adds words or speaks jibberish for a line and that happened to mess up the closer to the vision version. The one I'm posting now says all the words correctly and the style it should be said but the cadence in this version gets faster as the song goes on and it doesn't sound the same at an important part (to me at least) so I might make an even "better" version if I have time. I'll post the other version after the game...

I'm going to use this as the Intro to the album...

And then this as of right now will be the first song/intro that follows...

Im on the younger end of millennials, so im indifferent. If its good, then its good. Personally I love the idea of not having to wait for a new album. For example, "the internet" hasnt dropped an album in almost a decade. if I can get the exact same sound from an ai equivalent, then I'm Gucci. :manny:

Beyond that, Music is like a commodity to me like corn or beef. I dont really care if it is grown organically on a free range farm or if the commodity comes from a slaughterhouse with gmo(s). Im more interested in the end result than how it got here or the personality of its creator.

I'm willing to bet that age will be the Great discriminator.
  • Younger people will be accepting ai artists because their tastes havnt solidified, and because this wont be scary tech to them.

  • middle aged will be against it because they still have contemporary human artists that make the music they like, and its scary tech.

  • and the old will embrace it because it can create new music from bygone eras of their youth. Long after their favorite genre had died. It also helps if they don't have the capacity to tell whether the tech is scary or not. :pachaha:

There's no such thing as AI music. AI is incapable of creating art. All it does is imitate, morph, and copy what has been fed into it. It's wack shyt and I'm def judging people who actively listen to it.

Your brute force approach to this conversation is intriguing to me :patrice: Why do you say such things?
While I created everything I posted, I know that I "could" just tell the Ai to create a song about Piff Perkins being a hater of Ai and it would generate a song :youngsabo: The first time I used it I tried something like that and it made a song. Song was a little incoherent but a song was made.
I then put my own lyrics and and been rocking ever since but I once tried to describe a song a second time and it just made a short singing the words I put instead of making a song out of the words I told it to use. I say that to say we'll see, TBC

And you say that based off of emotion, not off of any raw data that you collected. Its an assumption that can be true in some instances and untrue In others. You can't really blanket statements this topic if you want to have a fully constructed thought and opinion on the subject.
Because I hear ya, and the Ai can prove you wrong by creating something NEW on the fly. Lets see if what comes of it...BRB :manny:

All I did was tell it that a man named Piff Perkins does not believe Ai can create music, also he has a white avatar so that mean's his breath might smell like bologna.

That's it. I put nothing else. It spat out a song, I didn't even listen to it yet.

Not gonna lie, I had no idea it would go in like it did. I wrote something stupid like this is a celebration of you just off the creation of this song
And the other details I said, literally nothing else. It was like ok, Ai is winning :damn:
Said you was a grump and a grouch, sitting alone on the couch with a drink in your hand :dead:
