I'll say this, assist can be easily manipulated or padded. A la Rondo, to a lesser extent Chris Paul. There aren't too many Jason Kidd's at the PG position, that actually made it easier for you to score, based on your strengths. But the game has also changed is that there's not as much off the ball movement.

From what I've seen, so far, Zo is an excellent passer in transition. I have to watch more games to see how he controls the offense in a more half-court game. He's a great rebounding guard already. Everything else is.....ehhhhhh. And yes, he deserves every bit of scrutiny he receives, because of Var.

A lot of people showing their age in here. I remember the GOAT point himself, getting called Tragic Johnson cause he couldn't shoot. I remember Jason Kidd being called "_ason Kidd" cause he had no J. If his ability to set his team up and pass is ahead of his scoring ability, it's not the worst thing in the world for a point guard.

Assists is the most overrated stat in the league...to average 10+ dimes means ZERO.

Different statisticians record them differently, alot of em give dimes away if you do nothing more than make an entry pass that leads to a bucket.

Agree with this post, as for the bolded he's not controlling shyt in the half-court. He's applying no pressure on the defense.

18 year old Olympic rubio had better vision than lonzo breh. I'm not tryna bash the kid I'm just being real 90% of his assists are from basic plays where the other guy just shoots. No pick and roll playmaking, no beating your guy off the dribble and find a corner shooter or a slasher. He dribbles the ball past half court and quickly passes it if the guy shoots and scores we pretend like lonzo created the opportunity. Than if he gets the ball hell just quickly pass it again, no creating off the dribble or running the pick and roll all the way just basic push the ball up the floor passes. Nash could at least run pick and rolls along side just pushing the ball up lonzo can't.

Every team will get at least 20 assists per game. If Clarkson, Ingram, Randle, Kuzma wanna just put up shots somebody's gotta get a high assist total and that's lonzo right now. nikka is strictly playing the numbers game.
