Honestly I noticed that with my little cousins. They don't have the new Orleans accents or slang anymore. They all sound proper compared to my generation.

Not that's a bad thing. It's actually good bc they speak like they have sense. I just wonder where it came from bc my whole family sounds like we from NOLA except the younger generations

But, seriously, the rise of the Internet connected young people from all over the country and even world in real time. Previously, isolated places start homogenized their accents. If a Gen Z'er spent their formulative year cooped up in the family computer chatting with someone across the country, their accents and mannerisms are unintentionally going to meld into one generic accent that's understandable to all.

That has to be it. We all have strong accents in my family. Some people call it code switching or whitewashing but that's just how this generation talk. They aren't changing purposely. It's natural now

Remember how "beautiful" white women used to look in the 90's and 80's and before? That long surfboard back and flat ass? Then 90's kicked in and it was that same body type but with breast implants?

Now white America knows and understands how that isn't the standard of beauty. White women have never had lips. No upper lip. Now they get lip fillers and shyt...now they gettin asses and hip shapers and shyt.

The only thing they are holding on to that they believe is cute/professional or a sense of importance or superiority is their accent/vernacular.
