We need to get to the point where we can condemn racist or other hate speech without limiting free speech.


Someone saying something that you don't agree with or that MAY offend you doesn't necessarily = hate speech and this society is getting way to sensitive and ppl are afraid of talk that goes against their personal beliefs.

Condemnation and reaction to words is not limiting free speech. Anti PC people complain that public figures lose endorsements or even jobs for saying certain things, it does not mean their speech is limited it just means society imposes a cost to expressing certain thoughts and words. If you ask those same anti-pc people what they think of Kaepernick for example you will see them expressing the same rhetoric as the so called "PC police" saying he should be out of the league or the NFL should institute a mandatory policy for the national anthem. My point is the people who say society is too sensitive tend to be sensitive themselves but just for different issues. For example when the National Review had a long article about poor white working class "moral failings" and how they should hire a U-Haul and move there was swift reaction from the right but that is basically the same type of analysis you hear about poor blacks and ghettos. It's only when it concerns people who look like them do they want to couch their language, heroin and opiate abusers need treatment and police officers acting like social welfare workers and no one is calling them junkies in the media.
