This stance stems from my childhood.
I had a friend in middle school. Her name was Andrea Martinez. I had just moved to the south with my parents and this particular community was extreme racist. me and her clicked because we were the only "ethnic" students in the advanced AP class at our school. Halfway through the year, her family changed their last name from Martinez to Martin. since they were white latinos that were white in appearance, that's all it took for them to get away from that ethnic label. Never looked at her quite the same after that, (even though realistically it would probably her parents doing and not hers)

but i'm rambling, my point is, i have more respect for the goofy names like Sharknisha than i will ever have for non english person having an english name.

Me personally i would go with something with a lil meaning like instead of naming your son King or your Daughter Princess. You use a term from your ancestors that means king or princess. like Oba or something

You sure you know Arabic ppl like that, most Arabic ppl don’t do that even after what 9/11 caused. Indians I know do that but that’s usually if they convert to Christianity. East Asians I can understand because ppl constantly mispronouncing your name and you constantly have to correct them gets tiring
