all that custom shyt went out of the style right AFTER the fast and furious

first one dropped in 2001.. you'd see people from the hood with the booming system BEFORE that movie... a few people would have a suped up car

but when that shyt dropped... EVERYONE had a suped up civic or nissan.. everyone had a truck with the rims... everyone had the system

it was like a damn IG meme.. the body kit, muffler, system, rims starter kit..

once everyone started doing it, it got played out fast... the car companies copied the idea and just charged you triple for an avg system with a big screen... and nobody really cares to have 800 watts blaring your damn ears out to get to a 9-5

Described it perfectly. Fast and the Furious movies changed everything. People's priorities changed. Can't invest in sound system when you need to spend money on body kits and rims for Japanese imports. Only so much money to go around.

I always hated that shyt back in the day. Sitting in friends' cars damn near wanting to get out and walk to the destination because my ears and head hurt so badly.

It was a retarded, self-destructive fad. Shame on you if you're still blasting your music obnoxiously loud.

Had an old piece of shyt banger with some weak 10's in the back and some tweeters rigged up but I had the courtesy to turn my shyt down whenever I picked up someone from off the road. As much as I love my music loud, If I made the decision to stop for someone, I already made the decision to limit how loud my shyt goes out of common courtesy.
