Mero was terrible on the show last year. Seemed unprepared or too drunk/high on a bunch of episodes. Just rambling bs that never ended in a joke.

I don’t know which came first tho, Desus ego being out of control or Mero phoning it in.

Either way, still love the show, but a break is good. Only so many times you retell the same jokes.

I will never understand how anyone thinks this. Desus by himself, he would probably get bullied, he was always worried about connects, but Mero pretty much made Envy hide in his own house (his show, and he hid u til they were out of the studio). They were try hards, and Mero especially thought he was funnier than he really was, but they kept it current, and they kept in NYC, there was room enough for everyone, and I am sad they didn’t make it all the way. I hope they cashed out in some way

They never really stopped being funny but listening to the pod over the last two or so years you could tell the chemistry wasn’t there anymore.

Matter of time. They weren't friends in real life it seemed. Met online, got into a business together, lived differently in real life but kept it together for the bag. Now they big enough with connects and writing credits to branch out alone and either sink or swim.

Desus grew up and went to school with Chris Hayes, who is 43. So he is probably in that age range
