Ny is still cool but going out of town and saying your from NY dont mean anything anymore.

I feel sorry for yall young'ns who never got to experience that.

Word.

Going down south in my early teens I would be met with :whoo::takedat: with a barrage of questions and telling me to say certain words cause I was from NY

Nowadays, I'm met with :rudy::comeon:. "Go back North you Yankee:pacspit:" :bryan:

As I typed this, a group of hipsters with no lense glasses passed my house :sadbron:

What sucks about NYC is that it's become too corporate. Too neat. No more grit. No more originality.
It's also to the point where a lot of people you see in NYC aren't even from NYC. It's like Los Angeles in that respect.

The Bronx, LES, Brooklyn, Queens, Harlem, Greenwich Village...none of it is today what it used to be in the 1960s, 70s or 80s. Or even 90s.
And I get that some of that is good. There was a lot of crime and shyt here.

But it's like the soul of NYC is dead. So why the hell would it be cool to brag about being from here?
Don't get me wrong, I love NY and all.

It's just...boring (in comparison).
Too comfy for white people.

fukkin Lion King play on 42nd street. :beli:

Every time a NY nikka come down here braggin about where he came from, I gotta remind him that his broke ass can't even afford to live there, and that's why you're here.
:russ:

It's true tho.
These rent/home prices

:sadcam:

1300 for my place
and my train pass is 300.

You know how many hookers and beer that buys in Thailand?

Norfeast groovin…
I'm just glad genuine New Yorkers still exist at least. But I can only imagine what it was like back in the day, the stories from NYers I've met made it sound fun. Woulda been cool to grow up in Harlem or BK for a few years just to experience that shyt.

This is true, but it's also true for every major city. The whole world is becoming generic.
