TYRONE GA!
He surpassed this?

Through the lights cameras and action, glamour glitters and gold
I unfold the scroll, plant seeds to stampede the globe
When I'm deceased, by then the beast arise like yeast
To conquer peace leaving savages to roam in the streets
Live on the run, police paying me to give in my gun
Trick my wisdom with the system that imprisoned my son
Smoke a gold leaf I hold heat, nonchalantly
I'm raunchy, the things I do is real it never haunts me
While, funny style nikkas roll in the pile
Rooster heads profile on a bus to Riker's Isle
Holding weed inside they p*ssy with they minds on the pretty things in life
Props is a true thug's wife
It's like a cycle, nikkas come home, some'll go in
Do a bullet, come back, do the same shyt again
From the womb to the tomb, presume the unpredictable
Guns salute life, rapidly, that's the ritual

When was that I missed it

Nas' Verbal Intercourse verse >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>...

Personally I like Jay better than Nas. I think my justification is he has more songs and albums I'm in a mood to listen to than Nas does. But I'll never discredit Nas to bigup Jay.

I just want to point out how lucky we are as rap fans to even be having this debate! Two absolute heavy weights with serious track records - I think as fans of anything you always look to have debates between the favorites and it's dope we get to argue about this shyt.

:blessed:

Bent and gonna let Reasonable Doubt rock for the 300th time :blessed:

When Jay dropped this shyt and i analyzed it several times over..i came to the conclusion that Nas would never catch him.

"nikkas tryna subtract my life, my mathematics is precise/ I carry the nine, so fukking with me just aint the answer/ I can’t lose – when I was young i was like Fresh, Poppa raised me to chess moves/ And though you’re gone, I’m not bitter, you left me prepared/ We got divided by the years, but I got it from here / Don’t sweat that, sounds bump from Marcy to Lefrak/ To that pocket in DC where my man caught his death at/ Over my years i’ve seen rooks get tooken by the knight/ Lose they crown by tryna defend a queen/ Checkmate, in 4 moves/ The Bobby Fischer of rap/ Where we all move"

Classic shyt
Jigga is just TOO wavy

To me, they can't really pass each other. They're in different lanes with different appeals, apples and oranges really. Jay makes raps with double entrendres littered around with about his ambition and making it in his world. Nas has more thought out concepts and prides himself as street poet, a mystic of sorts, not shying away from social commentary. Nas has music suited for more somber moods while Jay's covers a broader spectrum. To me, Jay had better beats, due to dealing with Kanye, Just Blaze, who use dope sampling techniques, while Nas.....yeah. Jay's rhyme scheme is more conventional and regular while Nas' raps can start sounding like a haiku.
Hov BEEN had that bounce

Jay been making classics :wow:

After Vol. 2
Nas couldn't even stay on topic on his OWN song

Huddlin' over the oven, we was like brothers then,
though you was nothin' other than a son of my mother's friend
We had covenant, who would've thought the love would end?
Like Ice Cold's album, all good things
Never thought we sing the same song that all hoods sang
Thought it was all wood-grain, all good brain
You wouldn't bicker like the other fools, talk good game

Never imagine all the disasters that one good reign
Could bring, should blame the game
And I could, it's kill or be killed, how could I refrain?
And forever be in debt, that's never a good thing
To the pressure for success can put a good strain
On a friend you call best, and yes, it could bring
Out the worst in every person, even the good and sane
Though we rehearsed it's just ain't the same
When you put in the game at age sixteen
Then you mix things: like cars, jewelry, and miss things
Jealousy, ego, and pride,
and this brings
It all to a head like a coin, cha-ching
The root of evil strikes again, this could sting
Now the team got beef between the Post and the Point
This puts the ring in jeopardy – indefinitely

A divine leader
Shine brighter, bonita mami meet a line sniffer
Never, poetic rhyme writer, chiefer
Ebony empress getter
Celebrity Apprentice a devil show
Big up to Africa, Mexico
Hennessy, margarita, venison eater
So dear spread 'em here, don't be actin' innocent either
Dome me, relax me, it's only to the nasty
I'm just a phony assassin
A lot of nikkas owe me, I'mma tax 'em
A lot of sisters hold me to somethin' holy and Catholic
'Cause the rosary and gold flashy
Just an attachment and accessory to my dress code
Now everywhere all I see is Pablo, Esco
