Remember when Lebron had 2 rings, they were already putting him up in GOAT debates with Jordan. Lebron has his people in the media, in a manner no great player in history has ever had ;

sustaining a debate that has no business existing in the 1st place.

Now this convo though, I can say Mike Stans have always been insecure. I was imprisoned during the Comeback Kobe years and distinctly recall Mike Stans doing everything they could to downplay Kobe as a historical competitor to Mike...

Kobe wasn't as great as Mike. But the point of Mike fans insecurities I saw live on many occasions, and its probably rooted in part at least, to NBA Media's obsession with searching for "the next Michael Jordan" in the late 90s thru early 00s. They kept crowning any athletic scorer, this tag was at some point given to everyone from Vince to Kobe to McGrady and others, and I think the natural reaction from Mike heads was to push back on why these dudes wouldn't and couldn't fill his shoes...

And I absolutely belive without a shadow of a doubt that because no one expected to see anyone rival Mike's stature, the rise of LeBron James sent the Jordan Stanbase into new levels of insecurity. Because if you're gonna rival Mike you gotta do it "Like Mike"----->except Bron did everything his way and became Mike's historical rival...

Big time Jordan fan and I've never felt insecure about his "GOAT-ness". Just like some older cat who may watched Wilt Chamberlains entire career will go to his grave believing no one ever did it better than him and nothing can change their minds. Nothing will change the minds of us Jordan fans who saw his career as it happened. I've also noticed that us from that late 80s-til his retirement love to argue passionately about sports like we would do every morning at school and we may do it with such vigor, that this new softer emotional generation may confuse it with being defensive and insecure

White Jordan stans used to hate on Kobe hard. Which wad weird to me cause Kobe was basically Jordan 2.0 stylistically. Just goes to show how cacs don't really feel the rhythm of the game the way we do.

Like what year was it that this came about? Was it 2016? That’s when I ended my back and forth with a certain Stan base cause it was obvious who was the better player and the Stan wars got boring, but you Jordan stans been acting like some bytches these last few years.
