if the only name you throw out there for lyricism is q tip it tells me that we are operating with two very different definitions of who and what lyrical rapper are. andre wasnt anywhere near to dropping jewels like nas or wordplay like pun. nor was scarface.

The South and Real Hip Hop fans always loved Andre and Outkast

Mainstream started dikkriding Andre 3000 around 2005 when he started randomly appearing on remixes like walk it out (unk) and throw some d's on it.......It almost became his thing to hop on these remixes, do features then all of a sudden people I never heard talk about Outkast were anticipating an Andre 3000 solo.

When Pharrell & Kanye shifted the culture & made the 'other' negroe popular his status was elevated and history was re-written.

+ the industry was always pushing kast, the things that are common now, the disconnected between critics & fans, they were the prototype of that. we just rejected them, yall follow what they say, kendrick is a goat, yeezus was a goat album, odd future the new wu tang :mjlol: etc
