Remember espn advertising the game St Vincent oak hill and talking bout this 17yr old who could be in the league already and be possibly the best ever. I was like

He and I are the same year. Being from MD, I heard about him our junior year in 02. I didn't know much other than him supposedly being able to play in the NBA "now". When that's said about you, I had to see it, so I watched/taped SVSM's televised game senior year and...yeah.
After that though he was everywhere in newspapers. There was the hummer, the throwback jersey nonsense that cost them a game for an undefeated season, the McDonald's All American where Chris Paul and Charlie Villanueva were balling, and the Jordan classic where he wore the all black low top 18s. That 03 year was a great time for pure hoops.

It was a few months before the game against Oak Hill in December 2022. So around October I think. TSN here in Canada was catching on to the hype, which was odd because you were likely to hear about some NHL prospect playing on some bumfukk team in the OHL, CHL or even the AHL before hearing about a high school NBA prospect.
Then they announced they were going to air that Oak Hill game nationally in Canada which was a shocker, it ended up being a big deal in general. Was rooting for him as we are born the same year. Really wanted one of them gold Vincent St Mary jerseys so found an authentic Schoolyard Legends Bron HS jersey with the shimmery gold, new. Wore it once and been vacuumed sealed since
