Probably when trump took office, and "identity politics" really became a thing. Society in general seems to have lost its middle ground when this happened.

I lurked for years, and I never recall so much hatred for women. I mean, some of these posters, really, really hate women.

Many of the threads can be low vibe content imported from TSR/Reddit or Twitter/LSA; usually nonsense of the worst sort. That and just life during the quarantine. I also think the average age of the coli user base is closer to mid-life than not.

Not trying to crack on the older members, I think some get tired of the same threads and will lash out on foolish posting they may see. That can create a bitter vibe somewhat.

I'd really like to see the bird babble threads shut down. It'd be a relief not seeing dumb threads about how Black women have issues with brehs, or guys complaining about women again and again.

I noticed it when I joined my first chat-site in 2009. I thought it had something to do with the collapse of 2008, when they were saying the young generation ain't gonna have a future, and our children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren would have to pay for our debt, etc... On line chatter was noting like this in the mid-90's and early 2000's. I'm not saying it was heaven, but the bitterness was incomparable.

Thanks to BBL surgeries and IG filters, older women manipulate the looks to extend their prime visual years and still act like 22 year old airheads well into their 40s. Before 2012, even women that looked younger than their actual age were at father time, and acted/ behaved accordingly.

Social media ruined that for grown men in this generation.

A lot of these dudes are getting older now. They’re either 40+ or approaching it, and they haven’t had the life they thought they would have. In some instances, that means not getting the women they thought they would, or being as accomplished as they thought they’d be. In other cases, brehs failed to become the man they’d thought they’d be in some distinct sense (i.e., this does not mean just monetarily), so they use this place as a electronic mancave where they can lash out—and wail against anything they perceive as having impeded them from reaching those aforementioned ends: women, single mothers, accomplished women, “square” men, immigrants, “wokeness,” education, homosexuality, etc. It’s nebulous but simultaneously crystallizing.

Thus, you’re often dealing with a super jaded lot. There are dudes that post on this board, that have a little following or whatever on here, that are clearly broken men. The fact that they say things that resonate with a lot of men on here is indicative of what I’m saying. In most cases, I feel bad for them.

Overall, I think thecoli is an entertaining place, but TLR is like Shawshank or some shyt. You have to have some hope that remains deep inside of you to be reading this board everyday and not get lockeroom-cized.

Mods. are partially to blame. They set up rules of conduct around some of the online "wars" a while back. Threatened to ban members for violating rules. Once the rules went into effect, they were afraid to start banning their buddies though.
Reneged when it was time to enforce their own rules.
