This fairly secular forum is just a micro example of the larger forces throughout all online and social media engagement.
The vitriol directed at women, is especially repulsive, because it is so degrading, so prevalent, and so transparently divisive, and the hostility aimed at like healthy regular conversation. if I posted something like "My friend T is so cool and sexy, she's just gorgeous", like that's a normal, non combative statement, neutral/positive someone will post "She's a whore, and you are a simp" within minutes, or something close, which is LOL but not really.
That was a hard thing to watch grow and grow. A fascinating shift has been the turn towards online omnipowerful presence and influence, remember when being online was pejorative? Or app based dating was "for losers"?
and now it's the opposite. What kind of loser would want to meet someone in person? ughh.
