I wouldn't say it was when I heard Berzerk...

But when they said that Survival was just a promotional COD song initially, and then he made a video and put it on the album I kind of figured MMLP2 was going to be meh.

When I peeped him still trolling at 41 on College GameNight or whatever I just realized I've grown up and can't take Mr. Mathers serious anymore. I used to be a huge fan, but that was like 15 years ago.

I listened to the album and the fact that he named it MMLP2 is a joke as well.

So when did you realize this effort from Eminem would be a disappointment/trash/garbage/corny?

Once I heard Survival I knew it was gonna suck. I expected it to be on the same shout voice, fast flow shyt since it seems to have gotten him back to his status in the mainstream, but up until that song came out I upheld hope that maybe he'd at least try something slightly different. Survival sounded like a Recovery leftover and Recovery was average to me.

The thing about the album is is that it isn't horribly bad. It's just hard to listen to as a huge fan of Eminem because it sounds nothing like the Eminem I listened to most of my life.. he doesn't even stay on beat on some of these tracks, his voice and flow make a lot of the songs sound the same, and his shouting ruins some potentially good songs. Even though the topic is ran in to the ground.. Headlights could've been dope.. if he delivered it with a laid back flow and a normal voice. Instead, he shouts the whole time to the point it gives me a headache and I never wanna hear the song again. My main gripe with 2010-2013 Eminem is that everything about the album and his new style is lame because it screams 'I'm doing this to blend in with every other pop and rap artist right now". Instead of standing out, sounding different, he's chosen to shift his sound in a totally different direction to sound more mainstream. When he's already the most mainstream rap artist in the world. Makes no sense to me.

Dapped and Repped

This is how I feel. Another thing that was just disappointing was the production. Might be time for Em to hang it up

If you can get through the first half, the second is like being dragged through the streets by a car at 20mph.
I think the first playthrough I made it to track 9. I got a call while I was listening, then cut it off and forgot to even go back to it.

I listened to the rest yesterday, and yeah... I think 10 and 11 he's singing and shyt.

:camby:

It's like Em never figured out how to make a mature song without it being some pop corny sounding shyt. It's either over the top Em that's kind of played out or sappy soft and poppy Em singing or a pop artists singing on the the hook for him. And for the love of god, why is the production so MEH?

Hes admitted in his music to fusing rap with pop and rock. Hes not one of us anymore. Doesnt even have any dre on the album. :snoop:
